Hello, please explain why or why not.

My personal opinion is a woman has the freedom to abort the child however she would be considered as a murderer and have to go to jail.

killing any form of human life is murder and abortion needs to be treated that way.

And honestly, the sad sob stories of the instances of people getting raped or cases of incest is total BS. both the mother and the baby didn’t choose for the mother to get rape or whatever the situation was. Why do one have to suffer?

i'm personally pro choice at least for the first 2ish months. after that i'm pro-life except in some cases like the baby being a threat to the mom's life, the baby having severe abnormalities, etc

i understand the pro-life argument for even early pregnancy, but i dont agree because usually foetuses at that stage look like this

they have no intellectual capacity, have no feelings, are extremely small, before a certain date feel no pain or sensation at all. i'm not a vegan or anything (i love meat :)) ) but every day we kill tens of thousands of living beings that have way more agency, have the capacity to feel emotions, to feel pain, etc to feed ourselves, to make clothes, because they annoy us, etc. at that stage of pregnancy, even insects like bees and spiders are more developped and sophisticated than a human foetus. why is there no problem with killing full grown cows but killing something that's more cell like than insect like on level of sophistication? we also routinely make animals abort, and we dont feel morally bad about it. what's so different about human and non human abortion? humans are animals too. we're litterally apes. i'm not saying abortion is totally whatever or anything though by saying what i said, i can understand and see how it can be a bit immoral possibly (like the fact that the foetus will become a full human in the future and you're killing that possibility. which is a bit sad :/)

anyways it's also sadly common for unwanted pregnancies to happen, mainly cause of lack of education on fertility, contraception methods, etc and it's a situation that ruins lives. the already fully formed, living humans's feelings and lives are more important than a cell or shrimplike being who has no brain. unwanted pregnancies especially of teens and young adults can cause immense psychological distress especially of the future mother, will affect negatively both the boy & girl's future prospects/education/etc and will ruin their youth. it often ruins their future litterally and condems them to flip burgers and live on benefits forever. it can also be financially and psychologically damaging for the other family members. a kid is very expensive and requires a lot of care. also not everyone will make a good parent especially at a young age and even more so if it's against your will, and it can negatively affect the developpement of the child (parents of unwanted are more likely to neglect them or even abuse them). even for a bit older adults, it can ruin their career and ruin their finances. that's obv if they raise the kid. if they put them up for adoption it's also can often not be very good. foster care and all that stuff often damages kids, sets them up for a future of poverty, etc. so many of them end up fucked up.

also wether you ban all abortions or not, it won't stop abortion from happening. abortions have always been common from the dawn of time, even in the most repressive eras. though the only difference is that when it's forbidden it's often practiced in very unsafe ways, that can cause often severe injuries, infertility, and death. most of the people who get abortions are teens and unmarried young women, not married solid adults. also as i said before it's not an uncommon situation, and even in ultra conservative times, premarital sex will always happen. people will always catch feelings and be horny especially men (men have a big part of the blame in unwanted pregnancies).

also most people that are pro-life from conception especially extremely pro-life are like that because of religion. like the belief that you have a soul at conception, etc. i can't take arguments using religion seriously, religion should stay very far away from law and politics. science and areligious ethics is what should decide if a practice is moral or not. religious fundamentalism is dangerous. and honestly charging someone for murder of a very new foetus is evil and probably not something jesus would have condoned lol (a lot of religious people forget that he litterally was very merciful and treated everyone with respect including prostitutes, severe criminals, adulturesses, etc and was anti extreme punishment and pro empathy. dont think jesus would want them locked up)

that's why i think early abortion is moral. though i dont think mid term and especially later term abortion is moral because the foetus starts to look like a baby, starts to have mental and physical faculties. though i make an exception in some special cases (like what i mentionned earlier, but also rape, pedophilia and incest. i think it's extremely evil to make the mom suffer through a pregnancy and potentially motherhood, and the ramifications of that throughout her life. and potentially also her family members, like her parents and siblings too. the fully formed person or people's wellbeing is always the priority over the unborn baby, especially the less and less formed it is)

so obv there should be no ban on abortion. it should just be reglemented beyond a certain point to avoid deviances

I agree with you. I also consider it murder, but people piss their pants and start swearing when they hear it because they don't like to accept it as murder. It's hilarious how bacteria found in outer space is a form of life, damaging an eagle's egg is punishable, but killing an unborn child is supposed to be a human right. Many people don't even know how the abortion process happens, how traumatizing it is to hear it from doctors who gave up their job. I also find it funny how people say "It's a fetus not a baby" but don't like to learn that "fetus" is the Latin word for "offspring" which literally means a "baby".

Yes , abortion is murder , whether someone was raped or whatever , it’s not the babies fault , if you don’t want the baby , put it up for adoption , killing an innocent baby is murder. I know a girl that was raped and got pregnant , she was going to abort the baby but then changed her mind , she ended up keeping him and raising him and she said it was the best decision she ever made , and said she can’t imagine if she went through with the abortion. Murder is illegal, and is banned by that factor.
So that contradicts it's self.
And no killing any form of human life is not murder, if you kill for the Army it's not classed as murder, if you manslaughter it's not murder.

If she will go to prison for murder that's not a freedom to choose that's the exact opposite. It doesn't seem like your thoughts are very clear. In your logic I also have the freedom to kill someone I'll just have to go to prison. This makes no sense. Freedom means you can do something without severe consequences. There will always be some consequences because that's life but going to prison for murder is not freedom.

Personally I think there's a lot of people that shouldn't be having kids and giving them the opportunity to avoid that is a good thing for all of society.

It's crazy that people think that they should have a say in what other people choose to do with their own bodies. They're not your kids or your family.

I understand that in some scenarios telling others what to do with their kids becomes necessary because they are literally mutilating, molesting/raping, abusing, harassing, beating, etc. their kids. But this is not a case of any of those.

Abortion nowadays is much more humane than what people were doing a long time ago, which was just leaving the baby in the wilderness to die.

Everyone has biological and sexual urges and desires and it's normal to act upon them. It doesn't make you less of a human for making a mistake and deciding you're not ready financially to raise a child of your own.

I agree abortion should be illegal and if it's not then men shouldn't have to pay child support. If a women has the sole right to decide if she keeps a child ( which by the way takes 2 a man and a women to create) because it's her body. Then a man shouldn't have to pay child support because we get no say in weather she keeps it or not but she can force us to pay child support. If she can force me to pay child support then men should also be able to force a women to have an abortion if she doesn't. I don't agree with abortion at all but I also dont agree what takes 2 people to create and only 1 can decide to keep it or not and force child support on men. If it's your body your right. Based on your question and its content, does this mean that for any woman who has a miscarriage there should be a criminal investigation as she could be guilty of manslaughter. Banning abortions doesn’t do anything except ban safe abortions. Even during the time before Roe v. Wade was a thing, unsafe and illegal abortions took place. Roe v. Yes, with exceptions. For instance, if the mother and/or child may not survive childbirth, abortion should be allowed.

Abortion is known to cause serious lasting hormonal/physical damage and mental trauma. With this being the case, I believe that abortion is often an ineffective and dangerous permanent solution to a temporary problem (very similar to suicide).

However, I will say it is morally wrong to allow women to get late term abortions and use abortion as a means of contraception.

You think rape victims don't suffer? Also if your child is the product of rape and grows up looking like your rapist, can you really separate the two?
Nobody views abortion as a firm of birth control, it is a case of last resort. Most who are opposed see abortion as something that girls get frequently and easily. It's rare and usually requires a lot of planning and forethought.

Being considered a murderer and going to jail kind of suggest she's not free to abort. Or at least the price is higher than most women would tolerate.
How about we just accept that some forms of state sanctioned murder is acceptable to most and allows imperfect humans to function in an imperfect society.
