Why do some animal rights activists care more about animals than humans? Isn't it annoying?

If you were in a burning house with a dog, I would run in to save the dog and again to bring out their bed so they won't have to rest on the ground.

I trust animals to behave like animals. Humans though, they are different. They have their own personal agendas and priorities. They lie, cheat and steal. I am far more likely to get along with a dog than another human and I have more animal friends than I do human ones.
