When is our society gonna stop pretending that car insurance and income tax isn’t cloaked theft?

The purpose of car insurance is to make sure that if you cause an accident you can pay for the damage to other cars and people's medical bills. The problem with car insurance like house insurance is that people are too willing to claim for minor damage such as a scrap on the paint work or a bust bumper after hitting a badger, stuff they really should pay out of their own pocket and of course the car insurance company is more than willing to pay for anything these days because next year they just add the total of everything they paid out this year on to customers next year.

Income tax is to pay for all those infrastructure and amenities that allow you to have an income. The problem is taxes are too high and the money misspent.

Car insurance is like all insurance. It is liability spread across a large group of people. The insurance company sets the rates according to how much they have to pay out and put in some extra for their profit. I can remember when not every state made you have car insurance. My brother went to school in Florida and we had an old car and he got a license plate from Florida and drove around without insurance.

Because it fucking isn't. Car insurance is basically there to ensure your fuckups on the road do not lead to others being out of pocket. Likewise income tax is there to ensure everyone is paying into the state.
