Not all are bad by any means many are some of the best people you’ll ever meet. But it’s not what you see on TV, what may on the outside look like a brotherhood/sisterhood. In reality is full of drama and toxicity. Number one is how many people think they’re better then everyone else. Oh how their way of doing it is by far better then anyone else’s. All the cliques of people that are all about how everyone else sucks but them.

Then you have one of the WORST things in my opinion. Everyone’s having sexual relations with everyone. Everyone’s messing around with someone’s wife, husband, or whatever the case may be behind your back. Yeah…. Imagine the people you depend on to back you up and your life depends on… Are bagging your wife when you’re not around.

No, not everyone is that way. But I would say a good percentage. Especially because some men who are first responders feel as if they have something to prove and thinks it impresses the ladies being a firefighter, medic, law enforcement officer, etc.

Law enforcement is definitely one of the MOST toxic out of people getting big heads and thinking they’re better then everyone else. Cliques who all look down on one another especially in big cities. The traffic cops, the gang units, the patrol officers, and command staff which is a whole other story. Even in other areas departments looking down on departments. Cops from larger agencies or firefighters from larger departments all looking down on one another. All the different units thinking they’re better then everyone else.

If people who aren’t in or around first responders, dispatchers, and people like that. Have no idea how bad it really is and it’s bad almost everywhere.

No. I don’t care about drama or sexual relations in the workplace, that happens at every job. But I couldn’t be a first responder as I wouldn’t be able to stomach the incidents that I would have to respond to. I couldn’t pull someone from a car who’d had a serious accident and was ripped in half. I couldn’t deal with the gore or the emotional aspect of having to go home after seeing death at work.

I took the firefighters exam and a year later I was called up but I was making a lot more money by then and did not want the pay cut.
