Definitely not. If you read some classic literature like Crime and Punishment you can see the main character Raskolnikov thinks the most important thing in life is becoming extraordinary like Napoleon or someone great. He makes many decisions to become this extraordinary person ignoring the parts of himself that are ordinary like his friends and his lover Sonya.

The Punishment for Raskolnikov is not the part where he goes to jail, no the true punishment was him hiding himself from his lover Sonya, his mom, never being able to truly express who he is to anyone because he has to hide the crime. He is free from his punishment once he admits his crimes.

Similar thing with the philosopher Nietzsche who thought that only abstract thought was the only thing that was worth pursing unfortunately became a madman near the end of his.

If you look at the Ted Kaczynski he kind of predicted the future with how technology will affect human's, but again he turned crazy and he also wanted to live a more primitive lifestyle away from his studies, but he was obsessed with people seeing him as intelligent.

If you look at bastion from Overwatch he is a complex war machine, yet all he wants to do is be with nature and run around in the grass.

You shouldn't only pursue intelligence if you ignore the parts of yourself that make you human you might end up miserable probably not like the examples I gave it most likely will be to a lesser extent.
