We are given the illusion that WE vote for who we want to rule our country.

Yet, when you vote on Election Day, you’re not actually voting for President. You’re voting for SOMEONE ELSE to vote for you.

that is NOT democracy.
democracy means we the people vote in the president and we in fact do not.
they make you think that you NEED electoral college or else “supposedly” certain states like California would be always the ones deciding who the president is which is FALSE.

if every single vote counted, individually, then the results would be exactly what the majority wants = democracy.

it would NOT affect smaller states because every single vote WOULD count NOT by state but by individual.

To have this work there shouldn’t be propaganda to brainwash people, but actual facts on the news.

Most of our mainstreaming media is controlled by liberal democrats who love to brainwash us and feed us fake stuff. This needs to stop as well as the electoral college.

The US has never been a true democracy. It is a democratic republic, where voters vote for others in government. That's true across the entire spectrum of government, from local cities, towns and counties (city/town/county boards) to states (legislatures) to national (Congress). The Electoral College is just another example of the way it all works.

Are you suggesting the way Congress is selected should be by nationwide popular vote? The top 100 vote-getters fill the Senate, wherever they are from, and the top 435 vote getters fill the House, wherever they are from? That would be the next step to eliminating the Electoral College, which ensures that each state has a say in who gets elected President.

Yeah, we've been conditioned our whole lives into believing we're a democracy, but in a democracy the people vote directly on every issue. We're actually a Republic.

I once suggested that the person who wins most of the states should be president. Someone said that wouldn't be fair because it wouldn't be what the majority of the people want.

I saw a girl bring this issue up with Charlie Kirk and he also made the argument that if we had the popular vote certain states wouldn't have a voice. I don't know what that guy's on. And reading the comments, pretty much everyone agrees with Charlie Kirk and thinks the girl is an idiot, but reading about the issue on GAG, it seems that is in fact Charlie Kirk who is the idiot. The popular vote is kind of nonsense because voter turnout rates differ widely from state to state. In 2024 alone it ranged from 50% in Hawaii to 76% in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Depending upon how the state's elections work, the environmental conditions, what other issues were on the ballet etc...

The electoral cottage basically just lets every state run their own elections without really interfering with other states by fixing their electoral power and thus relative influence of every vote to their congressional representation.

If they eliminate ec and go by state then there is NO purpose of eliminating the ev as it would still be corrupt non democratic. It should not be by ec and it should not be by state. But rather just how many votes in al the country what percent voted for who ignoring state lines. Doesn’t matter where you’re from your vote would count. Not which states. 🤦‍♀️

I am saying if the EC goes away then a much larger city like LA would be getting the attention of the president more than a small city in Iowa. Why would they care about that city?
