Are we going to have trouble again?

I am worried about the results of the election as are many other people I know and have spoken to. I hope the national guard and the military are on high alert, because if Trump loses I think there is going to be a LOT of trouble from his followers, who are going to rage about "election fraud" and the rest of that BS. It has happened before, and there is nothing to indicate it won't happen again.

What do you think about this?

In reality, of course, the pattern of "if we win, it's valid, if we lose, it's fixed" will continue, despite the ballots that chose Republican senators but abstained or chose Biden for president.

The Capitol and the White House will be very well protected. The various states will probably do the same at their capitols.

Not if he wins outright. If he "wins" by ignoring the will of the voters, that's another matter and there will certainly be legal action. There will not be illegal action, they won't send a mob to attack anything. They won't spend the next four years lying about what he did, either.

I can't speak for the general populace of states whose votes were ignored. What would you do if the votes of your state were ignored?

The left in general does not have a history of insurrection or election interference or promulgating the lie of election fraud as does the right. That said, there *might be* disturbances by certain racial groups on the left if Trump wins, but historically, these generally occur when a member of the racial group has been murdered by police. That has thankfully not happened recently and hopefully will not.

The Right, on the other hand, has a recent and substantial history of insurrection, election interference, and promulgation of the lie of election fraud as well as many other socially and politically disruptive lies in the form of conspiracy theories. Moreover, many right-wing activists as well as Trump himself have taken the position publically that "if we lose, that is because of election fraud".

That statement, in and of itself, would seem to almost guarantee trouble from the right if Trump loses. If he wins, the Left is unlikely to make serious trouble.
