Do you agree the block system on gag is harming election discussions?

I see multiple people spreading blatant misinformation but due to the way the block system works people with counters to this misinformation are unable to post or correct it. Please look at raw material for any claims made.

I blocked a stalker on here recently who actually recently joined GAG; they stalked me on another site first, and they aren't a female but pretend to be one.

Thats the fair usage of the system, but people here block everyone who disagrees with them and then those people can not post rebuttals to their dishonesty and misinformation anymore. In my opinion a good block system shields you from seeing their posts but still allows posting.

Yes, and it's not just the block system, it's the removal of opinions too. A couple days ago, I witnessed a question asker block someone then remove their opinion because the opinioner pointed out to the question asker the news article they linked wasn't telling the whole story, and shared a link to a news article that told the whole story.

Yup, I also had multiple opinions of mine removed citing counter evidence. That poster posted anonymously so blocking me was not an option. I have also been temporally banned before from the site for going on a post / remove war with an anonymous asker to warn everyone that the question was being manipulated. At minimum they should show "This post was removed by X"

I had a question asker get mad and remove my opinion when I provided facts that proved their question to be false. Been happening a lot lately, if your facts doesn't support the askers question, they are quick to block and remove your opinion so others don't know their question is false.

G@G should of never introduced the option to remove opinions, too many people abusing it removing opinions they don't agree with. The old way, if an opinion violated G@G rules, you reported it, and let the mods/admins handle it, and it should have stayed this way, at least if you were blocked for proving the asker wrong, other still could have seen your opinion.

I had some, even here. But its indeed mostly for fun you almost never change opinions. My fear is more that people actively try to spread misinformation to unaware users who then can't be debunked making it seem like their info is reliable.
