@Ariesman81 not having the ability to afford anything not mafe in the U. S. doesn't make us competitive. I'm not an economist, nor is Trump. However there are economists who have looked at Trump's tariff plan. EVERY SINGE ONE has said it's terrible and would destroy our economy extremely quickly. I trust them, because they spent their entire adult lives looking at situations like this.
- 1 y
@Ariesman81 Most of the people against tariffs are also very pro "we need to tax corporations to pay their fair share" without seeing the irony.

@WhiteSteve As would Harris supporters had it been the other way around. Too bad they didn't get all their illegals to vote. Or maybe they did but there were more bona fide voters still against her not to make a difference. 😂🤣😅👎🏼👎🏼
5.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I won't. But I won't sympathize with the Dems and libs either.
Before the victory, I said that I looked forward to seeing TDS effected Dems and libs heads explode. That still gives me joy because their fear and hatred is so irrational and over the top.
I have 1960s-70s liberal values and most of my friends up to 2016 were liberals. I marched in support of civil rights and gay marriage. I support the right to abortion. But I am also a strong supporter of free speech, second amendment rights, and liberty. I am also opposed to U. S. imperialistic aggression.
As my liberal friends became more and more radicalized, they began to see me as a conservative. In 2016, I didn't vote for either Hillary or Trump but was relieved when Hillary lost. I couldn't understand how anyone could support her. I will refrain from my description of her here.
I was never a Trump fan.
Then the pandemic scam of 2020 arrived. My liberal friends lost their minds. Those who believed in "my body, my choice" suddenly believed in mandatory masking, business closures, lock downs and vaccines. When I refused, they called my wife and me an "antivaxers" and acted like we were granny killers.
People with whom I had been best friends for over 15 years suddenly acted like I was an enemy of mankind. They ostracized me over politics. They did so because of my views on covid and jabs, but also because I wasn't "liberal" enough. I wasn't a loyal member of the club. I thought too independently and didn't walk in lock step with the Democratic party. I developed reasoned opinions on individual issues rather than adhering to party partisanship. I wasn't part of the herd or the hive mind.
I have no desire to reconnect with any of those people. They are dead to me. And I honestly take joy in the thought that they are anguished over this election because I feel like their brains were corrupted by the willing and eager consumption of liberal media propaganda.
But I'm not going to antagonize them or anyone else. To do so would serve no constructive purpose.
I don't dislike people because of their political opinions. People should be allowed to disagree. I am not an ideologue. I have an open mind and welcome respectful discussion and debate. My opinions are not carved in stone.
I dislike Dems and woke libs because they are self-righteous, zealous, inflamed by fear and hatred, and they spread divisiveness. They believe in using force to impose their will on others. That is not my idea of liberalism.
I acknowledge that Republicans are not much better in many respects, especially on the issue of contraception and abortion.

@FoxnEagle. Thanks, bro.
Yeah, my values haven't changed. You're nailed it.
I find that I get along perfectly well with conservatives even if we disagree on some issues. That's not the same with modern liberals. But my best friends have similar values to my own and also think independently. They have rejected labels and partisan politics. - 1 y
@Lliam the libs who are ironically commonly vegans (speaking of which, do fetuses get stunned unconscious before getting ripped like animals are often required to?) and supposed to be health conscious - also happen to oppose everything RFK proposes. Fluoride, atrazine, all these things are totally safe and good for you.
I shit not, gaggers were stupid enough yesterday to cry NO MORE FLUORIDE IN OUR WATER but when I suggested they spread toothpaste on their food to make up for it + have strict control over the precise dosing which water supply doesn't allow you to, they ignored it and multiple linked studies and PMed me something silly to derail the conversation.

u 1 yI personally will not. I also don't know if I'd call myself a "Trump supporter", per se. More just very, very, very, very, VERY anti-Harris.
But no. I'll make harsh assessments of Kamala Harris, her campaign, her worldviews and policies. But I'm not going to gloat about anything. A lot of the people who voted for her think that guys like me are bigoted, sexist, racist, regressive, Christo-Facsists and therefore, their enemy. Not only that, but the enemy of America. I'd much rather have conversations with them and try to help them to understand someone like me - a practicing Christian, a husband, a father - and what I want, how I see and think about things, and above all, why.
I'll admit, I've gone off the rails in the past here. There have been plenty of times that I've hit "submit" and thought afterwards "Did I really have to say that?" So this is me owning that and saying that I'm happy to discuss my thoughts and feelings about last night and the coming weeks with anyone who wants to.
30 Reply 2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes, i'm mixed about that. there's a bunch of evil democrat supporters and there's some of them on this site to. They will purposefully delete the right info, try to mislead others and wish trump dead. To all of you, this is karma, suck it, you lost, keep seething.
But then there is the majority of people who aren't bad people. Often those are mislead and if they believed the lies and fearmongering and are now affraid. So I always approach in good faith after winning an election and try to calm them down. The evil ones who try to destroy democracy, ruin the youth, etc lied to you and made it seem like Trump will now begin to end democracy and will take your rights away. But that won't happen, Trump is not a bad man he's just a man with a controversial style. He will leave democracy intact and hopefully ensure vote tampering isn't possible anymore trough paper ballots and in person voting. He won't take your rights away since he repeatedly said he likes abortion being a state issue, don't agree with your state? Move to one you are with and your good. I can keep going like that.
So fear not, Trump isn't going to turn into the dictator he was made out to be. But the establishment surely wants you to believe that. So all of you pay attention to news sources other than the one you were listening to and compare the info. Compare what you are told with what he is doing, and then stop listening to everyone that lied to you.
10 Reply5.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Even as a leftist I'm glad we lost by the popular vote. I've always said we can never rest on our laurels and do something actively leftist. Now losing by every way it should force us to break the status que and not be afraid of breaking civility.
Still don't think people did the math of moving 220,000,000 illegal immigrants trail of tears style. I also don't think people have the stomach for death camps after they get the first round of bills for too long.
We can't even butcher our own farm animals without said illegal immigrants working slave labor, let alone do it ourselves. Just saying mass deportation is going worse then covid19 worker shortage directly on prices on every bite of food we eat.
Also not convinced 10x surplus of oil is going to help anyone. Oil became negative dollars a barrel early covid19 because people didn't go anywhere. Plastic bags are 2 for one penny moving across the country. It realistically can't be more profitable unless we nationalized the oil industry like Saudi Arabia. Alaska does it but it is a form of socialism so I'm all game for it.

1 ySome will. There's too much bad blood between political foes to think they won't. That being said, it's not helpful. We, as a country, just need to move forward by focusing on important issues (economy, national security) instead of all the crazy pet causes (pronouns, etc).

it's no time to raise finger in the air..."were number one"... like they do in American football. Its a good time to be thankful and hope Trump can achieve even 5% of what he said... especially bringing end to wars, free hostages, stabilize finances and job opportunities without trashing the world in the process. Lets hope china/iran don't inflame more and remain calm. I suspect they'd be quite unnerved with Trump there...
