Why would people block someone for being a Trump supporter?

Okay so we were talking politics and one of my best friends found out I’m a trump supporter and she completely blocked me and blocked my number. We’re 25 and 18 years of friendship went down the drain. She said, “I just saw that you are a Trump and I am very disappointed in you. I can’t believe you would support a criminal to run the White House and he’s a racist. Because of this, we are no longer best friends. Don’t ever talk to me you criminal supporting traitor!” Then blocked my number. Wow…. We all have different believe but there’s no reason to stop being friends. I mean I never told her who I support or voted for because it’s none of her business.

Politics and hatred took over your ex friend I’m afraid. I have an online friend who is against Trump but I won’t block him because he is a fountain of knowledge of a hobby we both enjoy. We just don’t talk politics only the hobby so we can learn from each other. 👍🙂

Honestly, I probably would too if I knew one of my friends or family was voting against me after claiming to care about me. Everyone is entitled to vote for who they want, but don't be surprised if your vote costs you those closest to you, especially if you are voting for someone who wants to strip women's rights and, in my case, invalidate my marriage and strip protections from me just for being married to another woman.

This is why Democrats are known to be small minded cause they lack the ability to behave and reason when they get angry about other people's opinions, you see how your reaction was reasonable and realistic, thinking about how long the friendship was and how it's pathetic to break up a friendship over a political view?
