Does he diagnose the problems Democrats are now facing correctly?
There has always been a moderate but small caucus in the Democrat Party. Just like there has always been a moderate caucus in the Republican Party.
The moderate Democrats got stronger after the Republicans gained control of both chambers of Congress in the mid-90s. Republicans had not controlled both chambers in forever. The Democrat leadership acknowledged that they had gone too far left. Or at least that's what they said publicly. Although everyone knew they had not really changed, only their rhetoric had changed.
But over time they forgot the lesson they learned. They rode the wave of far left with Obama and thought they were scot free. They went further and further left and were so caught up in their leftist euphoria that they totally missed the fact that the majority of people do NOT support all the craziness that is coming from the far left. The thing is, the far left doesn't even seem to realize just how far from mainstream liberalism they've gone. It's not even recognizable as liberalism any more.
So they got bit and they got bit badly. In the 90s, they lost both chambers of Congress, but at least they still had a a Democrat president, even though he was very moderate as as far as Democrats go. This time they lost the whole thing - the presidency and both chambers of Congress.
Now if only the Republicans would learn the same lesson. Because if they insist on pretending it's still 1950, then they could also lose big. When they got control of Congress in the 90s, they blew it. But I think they'll do exactly what the Democrats did. They won't learn their lesson. They will probably come out with a bunch of far right policies. The American people don't want that either.
Both parties used to go after the middle. Now both parties go after the far right and far left, depending on voter turnout to win. They leave the middle completely neglected and force them to choose between the lesser of the evils.
Winning does not give you a mandate like both sides claim when they win. Instead of thinking it gives them a mandate, maybe they should learn that the American people DO NOT want everything divided into the far left and far right. The mandates are not to move TOWARD the far right or far left. The mandates are to move AWAY from the far right and far left. Both sides are reading the tea leaves wrong.
Yes, he is a moderate Democrat and is active in pushing for a more moderate Democratic Party. He has been active in that regard going back at least to the Clinton Administration. He has always been against extreme liberalism. He promotes centrist policies.
There is actually a fairly large Democrat caucus that aligns with his points of view. He is definitely not a rogue voice in the Democrat Party. He is not in the majority, but it's a large minority that is going to have some clout in the near future.
He's a member of the New Democrat Caucus. He's a member of multiple bipartisan groups.
Why is it so hard to believe that there are moderate Democrats? Just like there are moderate Republicans.
Reduce immigration and secure the border
Lower taxes
Reduce red tape that hurts small businesses
Reduce government waste and red tape
Crack down on crime and fire judges who refuse to enforce laws
Against tranny men pretending to be women competing on women's sports
I don't know how widespread support for men playing in women's sports is, even among Democrats. If it's allowed to continue and it grows, I think even blind fools will realize there is a problem with it.
That's the first I've read since the election from a Democrat who actually gets it. Trump didn't win this election, the Democrats lost it. A lot more Democrats will be getting it in the coming years if they are to have any hope of regaining the Oval Office in 2028. The DNC needs a complete rebuild. They have lost America.
I hate to say it, but the Democrats not only shot themselves in the foot this time, but they are also fighting with each other so to speak right now. Like they are playing the blame game on each other, and pointing fingers at each other. They're also blaming Kamala for not picking Josh Shapiro and blaming her for a lot of things, which is odd cause they were hyping her up weeks and months ago. And some are blaming Biden, while others are blaming both of them. It's literally a shit show right now.

I expect him to be exiled from the party very soon!
I'm almost amazed Joey wasn't exiled years ago!!
Republicans claims of chaos at the Southern border are completely accurate. This guy doesn't understand that most Americans have a visceral reaction to their country being invaded with migrant animals raping and murdering Americans like Laken Riley.
This guy thinks he "gets it," but he really doesn't.
Why would ANYONE in their right mind fear anything Trump might do? What EXACTLY is so TERRIBLE about him? Things were the best they've almost ever been when he was in charge last time! You're REALLY AFRAID of a booming economy, less inflation, no war, gas prices going WAY down and employment going WAY up? If so, you REALLY NEED some SERIOUS help!!
Tom Suozzi is a center-left Democrat. Wish there were more like him.
he still is describing half the country as garbage, Until that changes we will never be more than a population.
He's a vanilla moderate in a 50/50 district who is great at press releases and stoking his own ego...
But he is right from this flaming liberal
He’s right but it will fall on deaf ears.
