We now are okay with electing Republicans who support GAY MARRIAGE. Am I the only one who doesn't have amnesia? This was an extreme fringe issue not that long ago, and now some Republicans embrace it and we just look the other way? It led to the slippery slope we have now of all this INSANE stuff going on with gender ideology and the trans stuff, etc...

This is just the nature of American politics. The Overton window shifts to the left and in order for Republicans to stay electable, they have to follow it. Imagine if Republicans were trying to push for the exact same policies of the 90s. They'd get eliminated. For the most part, modern Republicans match up with 90s democrats.

If the window was moving to the right, the Dems would have to surrender ground to stay in competition.

People are becoming more educated. They're starting to realize that men marrying other men will not affect their own household at all. I want prices low, housing available, and people free to do what they want. The last thing I need is for my neighbors and coworkers to become disgruntled and actively make life harder for ME because they can't get married to their own sex. I can't see one good reason to encroach on the rights of others.
