There are signs that President Trump may have more pull in the US Senate than initially thought. Even some of those Republicans who were not fond of him seem to be getting in line.

So I think the chances of getting Gaetz into the attorney general position are better than first thought.

And there is the possibility of a recess appointment which also ups the odds.

I still don't think Gaetz is a sure thing, but I am beginning to like the odds better. 👍

With the debatable exception of Rubio, all of Trump's picks so far are massive middle fingers to the establishment/status quo, clearly aimed at decimating the corruption and costs of their respective departments. The DOJ should be shitting bricks right now because the libertarian wet dream of entire agencies getting dissolved is getting much more likely to happen.

Agree. I've heard that the education department might be the first to go which I think is entirely appropriate since there is no constitutional basis for that department to exist. And I think it is part of the root of the evil in that it has become the department of indoctrination for children. I think the infiltration of the education system by the far left is one of the root causes of the decline of America and the education department is a key player in that agenda. Let's face it, any honest person would agree that the federal government needs a shake up. It's no different than a corporation that has gotten out of control and needs to be severely reorganized.

Trump is picking people who are not part of the swamp. I like this pick and I like his creation of a Dept. of Government Waste with Elon and Vivek running it. He has only been elected for a week and he is already shaking up Washington like it has never been shaken up before.

I don't think he'll be confirmed. There are already Republicans in the Senate that said there not going to vote to confirm him.

My guess is that Matt Whitaker will end up getting a job. He's also terrific but their styles are entirely polar opposite.

When Trump was the president the last time, he was too nice. He let Hillary off the hook. This time the gloves are off. I wouldn't want to be one of the Republicans who goes against him.

I hear you. I think there is something going on with Gaetz... Some alternate plan. But I'm not sure what it is. He's resigning his seat now. He says that he's doing it so that there will be time to replace him with another Republican in that seat before the new session of Congress starts on January 3rd

No doubt he's also doing it though because he's had enough of the attack against him in Congress and this will stop it.

But I have a feeling that there's something else going on that is in his future. I've heard some talk that he may end up in the Senate... But I don't know the details

In any event will have to see what happens when he's up for confirmation. It will be interesting and it will keep the deep State shaking in their boots. Get out the popcorn.

They are terrified of what he will expose to the public about them and turning there entire deep state smear machine on him to stop him. And the usual RINOs in the Senate are predictably going along. The investigation against Gaetz in Congress and the charges are dead. He is already resigning his position and once he's gone they cannot pursue any charges against him.

The reason he is resigning now even though he's not sure whether he's going to get the attorney general position is that he will be vacating his seat in Congress, and he wants to be sure that he will be replaced by another Republican. If he leaves now there is a chance that they can put his replacement in place by the time the new Congressional session starts on January 3rd.

I think there is little chance that he will be confirmed for the attorney general position. But I'm glad they put it out there that he was up for the job because it sends a message to the corrupt deep state that no punches are going to be pulled to stop them.

I don't think he's going to make it. But that might be the plan actually. Matt Whittaker is standing in the background. The plan might be to put Matt Gaetz up first as a sacrificial lamb and a long shot, and then follow him with Matt Whitaker (who I also think is very good but has an entirely different style). Matt Whittaker would then be a shoe in I think.

I think Gaetz is a long shot to get confirmed, but we'll see.
