I think the term limit is unnecessary and harmful; if it hadn't been in place in 2016, Obama would have remained president. Trump wouldn't have had a chance. Trump's going to be 82 in four years time, no? What happened to not voting for old candidates? He's already unstable.

Wasn't the amendment introduced by Republicans because a Democratic president kept being re-elected? Oh, yes, FDR (of New Deal fame) was re-elected three times.

Still, if you were to amend the constitution to do with presidential elections, I'd suggest using the popular vote, since they're president of all Americans after all, and consider instant run off voting (like in Alaska) with more than two candidates, to reduce the risk of extremists coming to power.
