Has the far-left's PC culture ruined comedy and society?

I was watching episodes of some of my favorite animated comedy series that were released during the pre-Obama era (early-to-mid 2000s), and I was rolling and laughing so hard that I was almost crying. Many of these older episodes and movies that were produced during that time I know they wouldn't get away with today.

South Park, Family Guy, and the Chappelle Show all had some great stuff during that time. Words like "f*****" and "retard" were often hurled without restraint, and there was a more relaxed approach to comedy.

The progressive left's political-correctness movement really destroyed everything. The snowflake culture enforced a culture where we had to ensure our speech was "less offensive", or else we faced being "cancelled" or intimidated. It really became a buzzkill.

I am starting to believe, however, the damage is permanent and we are at the point of no-return. I don't know how we can "deprogram" ourselves from this without being too intentional.

Dude. The whole point of left-wing culture is to shock and break expectations. Literally the only way to STOP them from swearing and such is to make that an expected behavior. In other words, make it not funny anymore.

Again, this has nothing to do with leftism or whatever. Its how comedy itself works.

Comedy is an art which means it is a reflection of society. A joke is not objectively funny, it is subjectively funny based on the personal views and opinions of the audience. If society changes, which it always does (that is how time works) then comedy will move with it. Jokes that were made 20-30 years ago was funny 20-30 years ago but might no longer be funny.

The fact that you prefer jokes made 20-30 years ago might be a legit problem for you because that might indicate a stagnation in your development as a human.

As for the pronoun thing, I am honestly not sure why you care. It does not hurt anyone and the reason we had to develop it is simply because our previous system of pronouns did not work. We were wrong about our understanding of peoples identities so we have had to retroactively update our language to reflect reality.

Identities do not always reflect reality. No one should be coerced to embrace left-wing lunacy. There are only two genders, and I will never alter my language to cater to mental illness.

You can make all the excuses you want, but you cannot really deny there has been a radical cultural shift in the last 15 years. The progressive left has really shoved this down everyone's throats.

The claim that there are only two genders is biologically impossible. Simply put, evolution does not work that way, it does not deal in binary absolutes like that.

But that is honestly besides the point. The argument for why you should call people by what they prefer is basic human decency. If my name was Bob, and I did not like that name so I went and legally changed my name to Steve and asked you to call me Steve from now on then the only reason why you would insist on calling me Bob is because you are a bad person.

Personally I dont believe in gender at all but as far as it being a social construct, yes it is non-binary. It could never be anything but non-binary. Reality is infinitely more complicated than a simple A or B question.

There are only males and females. To believe anything else besides that is retarded. Now, I can understand adopting masculine or feminine traits that do not conform to traditional norms, but there are still only males and females. I will never refer to a man as a woman or vice-versa. Trannies should never use the bathrooms or locker rooms of the opposite sex just because they want to identify as a different gender.

Alright then. Lets do some thought experiments shall we?

So, first of all I am going to massively oversimplify this process as well as pretend that what you believe in there being only two gender is correct for this example.

I assume that we can both agree that at the beginning of the development of the egg there will be no difference in how men and women develop. For the record, the point in the development where males and females diverge is called sexual determination or differentiation.

So, if we now assume that body has two blueprints, one of a 100% perfect male and the other of a 100% female. AKA a completely binary differentiation and it chooses one of these two blueprints to start transforming your body into that gender.

Here is the problem. Even in this extremely oversimplified example which I have ignored countless other processes and given you every benefit of the doubt. It is still impossible that you are built 100% according to either the male or the female blueprint. Simply put, every time your body does something, such as dividing a cell or whatever, there is a small chance that it fails. Every time it tries to change one small part of your body into a male or a female it might fail.. and after trillions of tasks completed it has failed A LOT along the way.

Now you get to choose if failing either means you instead get a trait from the opposite gender or get a trait of no gender at all but you will never ever be 100% male or female. It is impossible. The body simply can't work like that.

There will of course always be edge cases and rare mutations, but you have XX chromosomal pairs and XY chromosomal pairs. You have distinctive hormonal and anatomical differences between males and females. It is the way it is.

Before we go on with this conversation, you do know that you only need one of those pairs right? In XX they are both copies of each other and in XY you are only using the Y for the male gender where as the X has instructions for a complete female version of the man.

I am an atheist and we are speaking about biology here. The fact is, as a man, you contain a complete set of female DNA that is completely unique to you and would have been your female self if it was expressed rather than the Y chromosome.

As I said, there are anomalies, edge cases, and mutations. For example, there may be a rare case where a girl is born with a partial uterus or a male with a hardly-recognizable micropenis. For the most part, there are distinguishable differences between male and female. Anotomy: vulva, vagina, uterus, and ovaries for female; penis, testis, scrotum, and prostate for males
Reproduction: Men produce semen and sperm; females produce eggs
Hormones: Men produce more testosterone; Females produce more estrogen... of course hormonal inbalances are common

Of course none of these are perfect, black and white, but the genitalia is a giveaway plus other factors involved.

From the beginning of humanity, it was easy to distinguish between boys and girls / men and women. Why do we all of a sudden have a need to blur these lines and not only promote different gender identities, but to coerce and threaten others to recognize and embrace it too? There is something insane about that.

Hermaphrodite is an ancient concept because ancient people recognized that this shit was more complicated than man/woman.

Also you just confirmed what I said by listing a number of biological and sexual characteristics which exemplifies a gender but is not required and many people lack at least one of them. In other words, by your very own definition, they would not be 100% one gender according to the criteria that you yourself provided.

No. Offensive language was recently approved to airways in the 90's so most shows and movies went overboard just because it was then legal. Guess they had it out of their system after a few years/decade.

I am aware the FCC became less restrictive overtime with certain offensive words. Although, I have noticed comedians, writers, and the media industry in general is walking on eggshells when it relates to certain topics. Look what happened to Rosanne Barr and Paula Dean. One moment deemed offensive, and you could lose your livelihood.
