Those in office are not favorable to him and still dropped the charges. I'm sure he isn't a saint and there's plenty of skeletons in the closet... he will never be pope. But ya can't ruin someones life over accusations.

@Kingofkings1992 Less than 50% of the vote, less than a 1.7% margin over second place, and low 300's in the electoral college is not "an absolute landslide".

For comparison, Reagan got nearly 10% margin over Carter and 489 to 49 in the EC. That was a landslide.

After a three year investigation the FBI declined to prosecute. Citing it was a false accusation. So, I imagine the only stuff in his ethics report is the frat boy behavior he exhibited after getting elected and before getting married. Nothing to be proud of; but since it has ceased, nothing to limit his, or anyone else's, career prospects.

      1. At no point did anyone, not the FBI, not even Gaetz's lawyers afaics, say that the accusations were false, just that the DoJ had "determined not to bring any charges against him". If the charges were false, the accusers would have committed a crime; no charges were brought there, either.

That is why I called the claim a lie. I did not call you a liar.

      2. It was the FBI tip line. 4,500 reports memory holed by the White House.

"Washington, DC – In a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, U. S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) today received confirmation from FBI Director Christopher Wray that the FBI sent tips that the agency had collected about Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh to the Trump White House without investigation. The tips were collected through the FBI’s existing tip line as part of a supplemental background investigation after allegations of sexual misconduct emerged during Justice Kavanaugh’s 2018 confirmation process. Wray also confirmed that the Trump White House directed which witnesses the FBI was permitted to interview.

... By the FBI’s own account, it merely “provided all relevant tips” to Trump’s Office of White House Counsel, the very office that had constrained and directed the limited investigation."

@NYCQuestions1976 That one you got right, but they didn't all vote that way for the same reasons, especially not the reasons you think. It was impractical, that's all.

The election WAS close, you fool! 1.7% margin is nothing. There have only been 3 elections closer in the last century. Reagan got 489 EC votes to Carter's 49, with a 10% margin over him in the popular vote. That's a landslide. Trump got in the low 300s, that's a typical close win. You're just going to keep repeating the lie until everybody gets sick of correcting you, aren't you?

Trump swept all 7 of the swing states, was competitive in New Hampshire, New Jersey, Virginia, Minnesota, and New Mexico (even MSNBC didn't call New Jersey for Harris until the polls were closing on the west coast), and only California trended more left in the election, where Harris got over 12.3% of her national popular vote. Every single one of the other 49 states trended more right. Whether you like it or not, Trump's win was a NATIONAL LANDSLIDE.

@goaded Reagan blew out Carter in an election that was never predicted or expected to be close in the first place. Trump blew out Harris nationwide (sans California) in an election that was expected and predicted by "experts" to not only be close, but some morons were actually expecting a Harris landslide. Hilarious!

In what was supposedly going to be a toss-up election slightly favoring Harris, Trump swept all 7 of the swing states, was competitive in New Hampshire, New Jersey, Virginia, Minnesota, and New Mexico (even MSNBC didn't call New Jersey for Harris until the polls were closing on the west coast), and only California trended more left in the election, where Harris got over 12.3% of her national popular vote. @NYCQuestions1976 Again: smaller popular vote margin than 22 of the last 25 presidential elections. Fairly normal EC win. Polls said it was a toss-up throughout. YOU EVEN ADMIT THAT: "... what was supposedly going to be a toss-up election slightly favoring Harris"!

@goaded I pointed out the "experts" stupidity. That's not an admission of anything. I stated ad nauseum all over this site that Trump was going to win, and that it probably wasn't going to be close; I stated ad nauseum to monitor the betting markets and money lines; and I stated ad nauseum to watch New Jersey on Election night. All of those predictions/observations turned out to be accurate/true.

      Again, with even more details:

In what was supposedly going to be a toss-up election slightly favoring Harris (according to "experts" and the left-leaning mainstream media), Trump swept all 7 of the swing states, won 24 additional states (all 24 of them CONVINCINGLY), was competitive in 6 MORE states (Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey*, Virginia, Minnesota, and New Mexico), and only California trended more left in the election, where Harris got over 12.3% of her national popular vote. Every single one of the other 49 states trended more right. Whether you like it or not, Trump's win was a NATIONAL LANDSLIDE.

*Even MSNBC didn't call New Jersey for Harris until the polls were closing on the west coast.

@Juxtapose Unfortunately, our dingleberry friend @goaded doesn't seem to understand that if you're going to look for illegal immigrants, all you need to do is go to all of the illegal immigrant shelters that popped up like warm yeast during the Basement Biden administration. Also, nearly 2 out of 3 citizens in the United States currently support mass deportation of illegal immigrants.

Another recent poll shows that to this point, 59% of people approve of Trump's appointees and transition team. Do you now want to post a different poll that basically shows the same results, but with just a slightly less percentage again?

I don't care what the sob stories of criminal aliens are. They are here illegally and that can't be tolerated or my society will be overwhelmed by them because every inch will be taken a mile by the insane Democrats who deeply wish to flood America with criminal aliens. If they do that, they can inflate their Senate seats & through military service or other loopholes, get them to be citizens. And as an added bonus, foreigners in your military are more willing to commit brutalities upon your citizenry so you can be more of a tyrant ruler.

And these illegal crossings are fueling human trafficking. Sex trafficking. This shit is really bad and we need a very strong border to secure against this.

The last two lines greatly outnumber the other seven lines, thanks to Basement Biden and Word Salad Harris.

Why don't these illegal immigrants ever illegally immigrate into other countries (other than using those other countries as travel conduits) in the Western Hemisphere, like they do with the United States, and to a lesser extent, Canada? Oh yeah that's right! Other countries in the Western Hemisphere don't want illegal immigrants either.

WRONG! The illegal immigrants go back back to their country of origin. If I illegally immigrated to Canada, the United States can't say "No!" to Canada deporting me back to the United States. The same is true for every other illegal immigrant from every other country.

The number of illegal immigrants from lines 8 and 9 greatly outnumber all of the illegal immigrants from lines 1 through 6 (thanks to Basement Biden and Word Salad Harris), and a strong majority of citizens of the United States (more than 2 out of 3, according to YOUR propaganda) support mass deportation of ALL of those illegal immigrants from lines 8 and 9.

No, you're lying about what I say, and about who's "Deliberately not distinguishing between illegal immigration and legal immigration." - if you're being put up in a hotel, you're a documented asylum seeker or have temporary protected status, both of which are LEGAL immigrant status. MOST people disagree with you on many categories of undocumented immigrants, most also agree with deporting recent arrivals.

Your "solution": "don't illegally immigrate" is ridiculously stupid. I mean, really really stupid. And you must know it. But you're an extremist who believes in absolutes, which is why you lie so much and project yourself onto others "Only a socialist deals in absolutes."

Real solutions involve things like appointing more judges to deal with the claims more quickly (which was in the bipartisan deal Trump had killed) and diplomatic solutions to get Mexico to dissuade people from crossing the US border without violating their human rights (organised by Biden and leading to low numbers of crossings right now).

@goaded in the sense that the criminal aliens are creating the problem for themselves? Yeah, they have nothing to bitch about because they created the problem themselves.

If you are referring to illegal immigration in general, well that is going to necessitate mass deportations and a whole bunch of other things to solve that problem. So it's not just on the criminal alien to solve the issue because you can't mind control the criminal alien to do what you want so you have to prepare for them to break the law and disincentivize them accordingly.

@Juxtapose No, in the sense that "Don't try to come to the United States illegally." is not a solution to the problem of people coming to the country illegally at all. Any more than "don't murder" is a solution to murder.

The solution to the problem of deaths on the roads is not saying "don't have accidents", it's regulation and speed limits, and it's never completely going to go away.

"You both know that your extremist views on immigrants is very unpopular with the US population."

He deliberately doesn't differentiate between ILLEGAL immigration and LEGAL immigration so he can continue to gaslight people with his dangerous socialism bullshit. Yet he'll continue to whine, "I dIdN't SaY tHaT!" What a balloon head.

Meanwhile, his own propaganda shows that approximately 70% of citizens in the United States want mass deportation for the millions of illegal immigrants let in during the four miserable years of Basement Biden and Word Salad Harris.

@goaded I hope your time off includes deep psychological corrective therapy and possibly a lobotomy to help treat your mental disorder known as socialism.

He projects to no end, demands that you answer his completely nonsensical questions when you refuse to be gaslit by his socialism bullshit, and when you give him answers that shove his pompous arrogance in his face, he then claims that you're not answering his questions, because your answers publicly and intellectually humiliate him. He also claims that he didn't post things that he clearly posted (like when he purposely doesn't differentiate between Illegal immigration and legal immigration), and then calls you a liar when you call him out on it by pointing out verbatim it's exactly what he posted. He's a dangerous clown. He's like the Kim Jong Un of GaG.

“We have just spoken with the DOJ and have been informed that they have concluded their investigation into Congressman Gaetz and allegations related to sex trafficking and obstruction of justice and they have determined not to bring any charges against him,” Gaetz attorneys Marc Mukasey and Isabelle Kirshner said in a statement.

NBC News had reported in October that the investigation into Gaetz had stalled, according to attorneys who have represented witnesses and people who have been subpoenaed or have spoken to investigators. The attorneys briefed about aspects of the case said the probe stalled over concerns about the credibility of two key witnesses or a lack of direct evidence implicating Gaetz, who has denied all wrongdoing."

@Juxtapose Unfortunately because of direct personal experience with someone like this, my educated guess would be that @goaded has "narcissistic disorder, borderline personality disorder, histrionic tendencies, hypomania, sociopath", or some combination thereof.

@goaded Billions of people around the world spend hundreds of billions of dollars on marked up smart phones every year, and then do it again every 1 to 3 years, on average. At least the Bibles are biodegradable with little to no refining/processing necessary and last more than 3 years. Go wah about expensive Bibles somewhere else.

@OddBeMe You mean when a local prosecutor in a state court brings federal charges on a single expired state misdemeanor that magically (illegally) became multiple felonies? Yes, that's the EPITOME of BULLSHIT.

As for the other nonsensical New York case, that's in the process of being overturned by the New York State Appellate Court.

@goaded What Appellate Court? WRONG! Both New York cases are nonsensical lawfare bullshit, and both will be overturned by the New York State Appellate Court. The James case is already in the process of being overturned, and the Alvin Simon Theodore Bragg case will also be overturned. That's why he wants his case to be suspended until 2029.

@NYCQuestions1976 Appeals courts ruled time and again that the case should remain in Merchan's court, that there were no grounds for dismissal, and so on. I wasn't talking about appealing the conviction (which has to wait until after sentencing).

@goaded No, Dumbass. Motions aren't appeals. The New York State Appellate Court has yet to hear ANY oral appeal arguments on the Merchan/Bragg case. Any motion (s) filed DURING the case (on either side) don't go to the Appellate Court. They're heard by, and argued in front of, Merchan. The Appellate Court doesn't receive the (any) case until such case is concluded. Then an appeal is filed with the Appellate Court. If I remember correctly, in the state of New York, it's called an Article 78 across the board (criminal, civil, traffic appeals). That's how it works.

@OddBeMe No, and I clearly explained the numerous reasons why numerous times, here and elsewhere.

@NYCQuestions1976 I didn't say he'd appealled the conviction, I'm talking about the various parties who decided the charges were valid (grand jury and trial jury, plus the lawyers for both sides - I don't think the defence ever tried to argue the charges weren't valid in court).

However, I made a mistake: it was the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct that dismissed the ethics complaint Trump filed regarding the case, not an appeals court, and they wouldn't have considered the indictment.

But of course Trump did commit 34 felonies in that case and has only avoided conviction in the other cases by running out the clock, rather than letting a jury hear the evidence.

@goaded You're a lying sack of shit, or @OddBeMe is a disingenuous sack of shit. Just under 160 million people voted in 2020. Just under 153 million voted this year (the tally so far, and fucking ridiculous it takes this long). That's only a 7 million difference in voter turnout. Eligible to vote, registered to vote, and actually voting are 3 totally different things, and at no time were there ever 258 million people registered to vote. As of September 2024, 186.5 million people were registered to vote. So only about 33 million people who are registered to vote didn't vote this year.

@goaded I didn't bring it up. You're the one denying that it was a landslide. 80 million people who voted for President voted for a REGIME CHANGE.

      Statistics, again:

States expected to win that were won convincingly (by 10% or higher) compared to states that were just won:

      Harris: 13-6
      Trump: 24-0

      Swing states results:

      Harris: 0-7
      Trump:7-0

States expected to lose, but the losing candidate over-performed and/or performed well:

      Harris: 0-24
      Trump: 6-13
