Who do you think would succeed Marco Rubio as Florida Senator?

Rubio is likely to be nominated for Secretary of State and thus resign from Congress. The authority to pick his replacement is up to Florida governor, Ron DeSantis.

I personally believe DeSantis would pick someone loyal to him and then run himself in 2026, when he is term limited as governor.

It would be hilarious if he picked Matt Gaetz, but I don't think that's going to happen.

I'm not familiar enough with Florida politics to hazard a guess at who in the house or state level politics would be likely candidates. Most prominent figures either have their sights set elsewhere, or outright want nothing to do with politics anymore.
