For clarification, I'm talking about the US, not Europe which I agree should have stricter immigration issues. The ones we would be deported would mostly be Mexicans, who for the most part are good people.

Your argument is only superficially true, in the context of if anti-immigration policies were strictly racist in nature. With that attitude, Christians should repent.

However the majority of people I know against immigrants are only upset about the illegals, which is both a problem from an economic and judicial standpoint. In the past, there were zero welfare programs, taxes were pretty much for the king and his armies. A country can have free and open borders or they can have welfare programs but they can’t sustain both. If our tax dollars continue going to bomb Russians, brown people, and funding abortions and other degenerate acts, when does it start being a moral good to not pay?

If a group of illegal immigrants shows up at your door demanding food, healthcare and a place to sleep, (they don't want to work) that’s your call if you want to be hospitable as a Christian. But if you tell them your neighbor has a bigger, nicer place to stay and send them there instead, that’s not really being Christlike.

Socialists and communists are driven by envy. They want to outsource generosity to the State. The intent is to legalize the use of force to coerce their neighbors to be charitable (redistribution of wealth) at the point of a bureaucratic gun.

That’s how I see it on a macro level anyway. Either way, reform needs to happen. If they want to be here legally and pay taxes and live by the laws of the land, we should welcome them with open arms as a country. Also, the left tried to implement a stricter border policy, and the right tried to shoot it down. However, the issue here isn't that they are trying to deport illegals, it's that they want to use the national guard, and reopen the interment camps that were shut down for being inhumane.

As for socialism, most of the left doesn't want socialism, but a more fair capitalism. Free healthcare and education are ways of evening the playing field. Rich people who have their parents pay for everything already received these benefits, so why shouldn't the person born into poverty not also receive these benefits? The only reason not to allow these is classism, as free education especially, just makes it so that someone who had no choice is able to afford college as well.

Also, you mention socialism being about envy, but everytime someone talks about illegal immigrants, it's always "if I don't get it, they shouldn't get it either" as if they are living a good life being with almost no income.

I don't think the race matters, as the crime rate is for immigrants and undocumented immigrants in any study I found, and race wasn't the deciding factor. As far as anecdotal evidence goes, my hometown had a large immigration community of Mexicans. It was small, but in my hometown, the most you'd get on a Hispanic person, especially immigrated, was drug charges, usually marijuana, maybe a fight. All the violent crimes were committed by locals, though tbh, there wasn't a whole lot of violent crimes. Most of them I met were Christian who put family first, or worked extra hard in order to be welcomed.

So any stats I found support that they are nonviolent, and so does anecdotal evidence, although you of course have some outliers. The main issue was that many of them kept to their communities, so didn't speak much English.

There was also another argument I had where someone was talking about a specific area in New York recently, where the immigrants were bussed to and crime supposedly skyrocketed. But the actual stats showed crime barely changed, indicating the illegals had very little to no effect on the crime in the area. I could probably find it, but tbh, I'm trying to get off this site now. I mainly just wanted to throw my voice into the mix, so the right would stop saying everyone agrees with them, because no one they talk to disagrees, as if there isn't a reason for that.

If you are to treat the foreigner like your own, then:
1. they must abide by the laws the native born also live under (meaning assimilation),
2. they must also take on the responsibilities of the taking care of the nation (meaning be of benefit to the nation, add to the moral fiber and not drain thw system, pay taxes, not he exempt from them)
3. If they commit a crime, they are to be treated like your native-born and be prosecuted from those crimes, not he exempt from them
4. If they are to be treated like the native-born they must have the proper paperwork to be and live in that land and add value to the land, not take away from it. It also means that work needs to be done on our native-born too, to be fair.
5. Asylum seeking is justifiable. Saint Joseph, Mother Mary amd Jesus fled and sought refuge in Egypt. But they weren't leeches to Egypt. They worked and added value. Not just practically, we're literally talking about God and His parents, so there's more value here.

Loving your neighbor, even the foreigner, does not mean allowing destruction. Would you want that for yourself or your neighbor?
If it means differentiation between those who truly need help and those who take advantage, then work needs to be done there. Nuance is important, prudence is important, not blanket acceptance that leads to chaos. That is not loving.

Also, let's break this down. Police are individuals. They are biased, and many are racist. They'll more strongly remember an immigrant breaking the law, and may even be more likely arrest someone who they have this bias against. Also, they aren't allowed to force you to reveal your immigration status, and it's not standard procedure to ask. So they are making an assumption on that point as well. Also, they are going off of hearsay, and not any kind of statistics. That's as biased as you can get.

Now let's break NYT. They posted their sources for their claims, including the statistics for how many arrests were made before and after they sent the busses of immigrants to NYC (it barely changed). So even without NYPost being regarded as the least trustworthy news source in NYC, and NYT being regarded as the most reliable for many decades until suddenly the right wing decided that anything that isn't right wing is unreliable, you can just look at the sources both provide and see which one is more reliable (again, NYT).

Now because you don't seem to realize this, I use sources from both right wing and left wing media, depending on what is most reliable, but you only use sources that are right wing and already fit into your own mindset.
