Why do the climate crazies fly around and go on cruise ships?

I just don't get it. If you're gonna talk the talk, then walk the walk. You know they're in their cabin watching Netflix and posting on GAG about carbon. Do they think that boat is electric? And if it is, where do they think the electricity comes from? Farting cows?

They live in multiple mansions, and tell you to keep the heat down in your apartment. They get out of their limos, and lecture you about your car.

The crazies need to stop talking about it, because they don't care.

Side note: I think those yellow things on the cruise ship are lifeboats. Looks like plenty to me.

I think the big thing to remember about any of the climate change stuff (especially from a social policy standpoint) is that the people championing the policies, laws, and programs have HUGE FINANCIAL INCENTIVES to not solve a damn thing.

These people have made their livelihood from selling the public on a perpetual state of alarm about humanity's impact on the environment, but the only solution they can ever come up with is to throw more money at the problem. The same people who can come up with alternative solutions are usually part of the group hurting the environment.

Why was this most recent international environmental agreement poo-pooed? Because the developing world doesn't feel like the developed world is spending nearly enough on the problem.

Oh yeah, they are soooo concerned about the planet.
It's more like they want to monopolize the Earth's resources, including human resources, and treat humans like factory farm animals while they live in unimaginable luxury. They want people to eat bugs while they, themselves, eat the finest foods. They see themselves as modern gods.

I mean I wouldn't go on a cruise because that's terrifying and worse for the environment than flying (which is much quicker too) but honestly most of the worlds carbon emissions come from super tankers there's like less than 20 giant ships that make up 80% of the worlds carbon emissions.

Basically what individual people do doesn't have as much effect as what you'd think it would. The big companies are really the ones that need to change for the better. Super tankers need to look into using more environmentally friendly fuel for it to make any difference

Yes it's possible to get to that point or at least make a start. But obviously there's the issue with fuel being a monopoly and also the question of reliability and efficiency on other fuels

It's easily solved... each person getting on teh ship is handed a slip of paper to plant 1000 trees next year to offset their consumption on the ship. If they fail to, they are beaten with a cane.

I guess we should all do our best to be stewards of the environment and understand we are making a heavy footprint. We can do things to improve environment if we try, but it's hard to change and economically impactful... to go back to how our grandparents lived. thats what we'd have to do...
