I think it was a very irresponsible and stupid decision for president Biden to take. It is not going to make any significant military difference for Ukraine. But it does make a hell of a lot of a difference in steering things up even further, provoking escalation, and bringing the world that one inch closer to a third world war. It seems to me that Mr. Biden made this decision so that he could do something, the last thing perhaps before he leaves office for good. A looser move based on anger and his inability to accept his decline. He deserves to go to jail for this. Imagine if it is a catalyst to initiate a nuclear war! Imagine the damage. He should not have been even thinking about such a thing let alone do it.

Since North Korea entered the war, yes. They need to be wiped out as soon as possible and these weapons will help with that objective. The good news is that the Ukrainians have encountered them on the battlefield and said they were easy to kill. Putin is low in manpower without a draft which he won’t do as that Merkel him weak.

It's a risky thing to do, could escalate the war outside of Russua and Ukraine. Though it does allow the US to test the technology, which is exactly what the Russians did with their response, using a medium range missile with multiple non-nuclear warheads. Now both Russia and the US know the capabilities of their own missiles, and of each other's.

The range of ATACMS are only about 300 miles. So unless Ukraine take about 150 miles of Russia they still won't be in range of Moscow.
