that said, I support sanctuary cities... as long as they fund it themselves. that is a noble thing and it was inspired by religious poeple caring for others. If they want to house as many refugees, it's their choice... but stop sending them elsewhere and turning them loose on others that are not sanctuaries.

There is a big difference between someone whose shows up knowing it is illegal in disregard of the local laws and someone who shows up in obedience of said laws with an implicit invite.

When their first act is to disregard the law you have no reason to expect they would ever be inclined follow the same laws and treat the culture that makes them as one worthy of cooperating with in the same regard.


There is also a big difference between people who show up to live and work among you who are culturally similar and easily assimilated and those whoa re culturally distinct and likely to colonize.

If they don't assimilate and retain ties to the old country they will all the same be less likely to become apart of your country rather than a threat to the country at constant odds with the same.

They are trying to make it to the sanctuary cities in hopes that the mayors of those cities will protect them from deportation. Trump said he will deploy the Army into those sanctuary cities to remove the illegals.

I think they are just banking on the sanctuary cities policies to protect them. They should have tried to go to Canada instead because Trump is putting penalties on companies that hire illegals which means they are no longer worth hiring, so they will be jobless. Also, New York stopped paying $350 a week for them to buy food a few days after Trump and they are busing the illegals back to the border.

Even the sanctuary cities protect them they will be homeless with no jobs and forced to join the migrant gangs like Tren de Aragua which will lead to them going to jail and getting deported.

That's not how sanctuary city's work. Criminal know that illigle immigrants don't have police protection so they target them. People get hurt in the cross fire. Sanctuary city just has a policy where Ice REQUEST for assistance the default answer is no. This is every much a good example of states rights vs federal over reach.

Firstly, any numbers about "illegals" are mostly bullshit. No one can know exactly how many illegals there are - unless they were smuggling them in. But even then, they would not know all other routes and traffickers without incriminating themselves.

Secondly they are only "illegals" after a court of law deems them so. The USA REQUIRES them to cross the border before they can make an asylum claim.
