Flynn lied to the FBI, there were dozens of documented connections between Trump's people and Russia, not to mention all the instances where Trump personally obstructed the investigation and pardoned people who were convicted for crimes covering up for Trump.

Maybe the agent, if what you say is true, wasn't aware that Flynn reported the discussion he lied about to someone else. He pleaded guilty.

@goaded Yes it was indeed a silly political hit job. As is well known the FBI is soo dirty in how they threaten people with unending and unaffordable lawfair they can get a guilty ple on almost on anything, particulary minor issue.

In this case the Corrupt FBI are complaining about:
* Flynn mistakenly believing he didn't ask Mr Kislyak to "refrain from escalating the situation in response to sanctions that the United States had imposed against Russia that same day"

* failing to recall that Mr Kislyak had later told him Russia was moderating its response to the sanctions as a result of his request"

* Forgetting about a remark a request at a uncertain time of Mr Kislyak to "delay the vote on or defeat a pending United Nations Security Council resolution".

* being incorrect about the Turkish government's involvement and supervision of a project that his intelligence company was taking part in.

All of that is nonsense claims to expect a guy to know every detail of a large organization or remember in great detail every conversation. Given the answers to said questions are frankly Not legitimately relevant they had no real business asking him them in the first place.

The little known and just about never used in 200 years for being regarded as unconstitutional federal 'law' to the effect of banning private citizens to ask things of forign governments is not a ligitiamte excuse, partiuclary when said private citizen was part of an incoming administration.

Flynn didn't pretend to represent the goverment but himself as part of a incoming administration which is true.

I don't dispute that corrupt politicians 200 years ago tried to make it illegal to negotiate, but there is something called a 1st amendment and a reason it is never enforced.
Its not a legitimate law, which is why nobody is going after trump and his administration now for utterly disregarding the same, nor ever did anyone else.
