criminals need to learn to pull over and take their punishment. failure to submit means all those involved in the accident get to line up and beat the criminal. like this..
it's the only way some people will learn. "spare the rod, spoil the child". you've got a whole generation of them...
wow. did not think that was legal or used... but why did they go to that extreme? they won't even chase a criminal around my liberal area for this reason... criminals know that, so other people occasionally get killed when they cause an accident... including going wrong way on the road... happened not long ago.
the criminal caused the mess. but the city /police gets the punishment as they have the $ and put down the strip. it's all about money at that point and insurance co decides that.
@MarjorieJ oh yes, classic! Chock full of good humor.
@marjoriej
ain't it the truth how some of us feel about our fellow passengers😂?
@lightbulb27
Leslie Nielsen was a comedic genius.
Leslie: Captain, how soon can you land?
Captain: I can’t tell.
Leslie: You can tell me, I’m a doctor.
Captain: No, I mean I’m just not sure.
Leslie: Can’t you take a guess?
Captain: Well, not for another two hours.
Leslie: You can’t take a guess for another two hours?
Captain: No, I mean we can’t land for another two hours.
@MarjorieJ For sure, the king of mis-interpretation.
Hi speed chases are entirely unnecessary and should be banned
I'm most angry at the cops. The worst thing that would have happened is that the criminals would have gotten away for a while. Putting Spike strips on a road where people are actually driving. Is it reckless and dangerous thing to do and should be prohibited.
Of course, since the criminals are the ones who started all this, it makes perfect sense that the cops are then free to use any and all non-lethal and lethal means to apprehend The mean bad criminals. Let's say this involved setting off a small atomic weapon in the area where you know the criminals are probably living. This would have had the effect killing thousands of people but at least you would have also in all probability killed the criminals and they would never do the carjacking stuff again.
Does this make any sense to you? I asked because it sure doesn't make any sense to me.
Cops love to chase, regardless of how many people die. That can track the person and eventually catch them. Cops don't need to chase and force them to speed even more.
Yes exactly. Hops also ignore the fact the car crashes are the leading cause of death for the cops themselves. I've mentioned that to cops and they acknowledge that it's true, but then they state that they really enjoy the chases too. I understand this but I wish they wouldn't involve other people in it and unfortunately they inevitably do.
Don't forget that insatiable addiction for ID... THEY JUST GOTS TO GAVE IT!!
Theh have to make a choice in the heat of the moment, to chase or let go.
When the police are unable to figure out that their solution is worse than the original problem, that should indicate to them that what they are contemplating is a bad idea and they should abandon that bad idea. They often do not when the bad idea involves something exciting like a car. Chase.
@msc545 not that simple. They could let the car go and have it kill a family of 5 up the road or they could stop it there and then. Sometimes things just go wrong.
Here is part of they we should never allow cops to participate in high-speed chases:
www.msn.com/.../ar-AA1vuzwv
@msc545 then make doing $120 through a residential area legal?
@msc545 when a criminal is not stopped when do they stop committing crimes?
@msc545 how do you catch them safely?
So track down the license plate and arrest the person who just got their car stolen. How about we arrest rape victims for committing rape too while you are at it
How would it do that when license plates can be removed and cars abandoned or burnt out? The license plate will give the address of the owner not those that stole it.
But they can't stop them. All they need is the license plate of the same make and model. GPS can be pulled out of a car. Cars are being stolen all the time, especially those land rovers, GPS is easy to disable. But we are talking about fleeing criminals. Once theh get away they will abandon the vehicle
I would differ a bit. Most cops just want to go home at night like the rest of us. That said, there are some cops that probably got off on violence and dramatic car chases and all the rest of it. Those of cops we have trouble with. They absolutely have to be confined by rules and eliminating high-speed chases would go a long way toward saving everyone a lot of grief. Let's remember that both cops and civilians get killed in these chases and there is no reason to have them.
@msc545 liberals say that but then we get dangerous thugs on the subway like Jordan Neely assaulting people and the liberal DAs won't prosecute them or get them off the streets

Incompent Macho egotistical blue line gang members who have too many toys n no one has ever told them "No"
Did you just call police "gang members?'"
@Graptemys79 yes. The have every symbol, color, behavior, structure, weapons, violence, arrogance, crimes, coverups that gangs do. Flip side of the crime coin
So, you want no police?
@Graptemys79 That is an unwarranted conclusion. You cannot rationally decide that letting the police do anything and everything they want, no matter how dangerous, is the only alternative to "not wanting any police" as you suggest.
I believe that the OP and I share a similar goal of desiring police who prioritize citizen safety. This is not unreasonable, given that the whole point of apprehending criminals is to increase citizen safety. Using dangerous methods to accomplish that essentially defeats that goal.
@Graptemys79 no I want them to live up to their oath to the Constitution and their motto "to protect and serve"
@msc545 I didn't say the police should be able to do anything. But in the example provided, they would not have had to take any action if the criminals hadn't misbehaved in the first place. There was a case a few years ago in my town of a robber taking a hostage and crashing in the police pursuit, killing the hostage. Were the police just supposed to let that robber go?
I think our friend here doesn't want criminals to misbehave as he puts in it, and that certainly is a lofty and worthwhile goal that is almost impossible to meet given the fact that if people didn't misbehave there would be no criminals and we wouldn't be having this discussion. However, when people do misbehave, we have to do something about it, but that's something does not have to involve risking the lives of innocent citizens because we feel like using dangerous methods that are completely unnecessary to reach the goal of apprehending the misbehaving persons.
So what cops can put these down without stopping normal traffic?
Cops are God's among men and are PERFECT!! They're 10 week training guarantees it!
@DrPepper12 i mean... yeah. seems like it takes acts of God to prosecute cops bad behavior. Like needing 12 min video of them choking black men.
Notice there's no video of other infamous deaths. And no prosecutions.
@DrPepper12 Ours get 31 weeks training but I'd have to say they out very green. Newly minted cops actually want to help people for gawds sake. More experienced police will explain why they can't do anything for. you.
The criminal, because they're the ones who endangered everybody else by fleeing from the cops.
I'd be pissed at everyone.
Criminal is at fault.
it depends on what they are fleeing for
