It was a bit of a blunder to have the Olympic election. No assembly election is possible till 2025. It seems difficult to remove a French president but there is a two term limit so he is out in 2027.

Trump is possibly the most divisive head of state in the world. It's generally not a good idea to invite such a divisive person to retain power.
