@Amur8711 Since when? Most laws in American history were based upon religious believe in sin.
Indeed we even had laws in most states which facilitated the establishment of religious well into the 20th century even after the Federal court invented the incorporation doctrine turning the 1st amendment on its head.
That is to say literally reversing the meaning of the 1st amendment written to keep the federal goverment from interfering with State laws on religion to actually prohibiting state laws on religion implicitly in favor of atheism.

1 ySince marriage has been turned into a financial trap for straight men to the point of scoffing at the idea of marriage... it don't matter to me. Let the butt fuckers get a certificate for butt fucking.
I'll put it like this, I've been married for a really long time (to a woman), do any of you really give a fuck? Am I special now because I have a certificate of fucking pussy? I was fucking pussies before I got the certificate of fucking this pussy... isn't the only difference is I'm a pussy fucker that now has a certificate for fucking this particular pussy? Oh wait... now someone is financially liable. Okay so now she'll have to pay money if she wants to stop getting my dick in her pussy (she's the one that works, and that's how it works).
I don't think it's all that special. I just fuck pussy, and they fuck buttholes.

I'm just saying... no fault divorce basically revokes the devotion part of the certificate. You don't even need a fucking reason to leave now! You can be the cheater and make the other person miserable and you'll walk away with the cash and prizes as long as you're not the one working... no punishment anymore!! It's a great deal if you don't want to work and take advantage of someone.
I'm just saying marriage is sort of dumb to do now that it isn't what it used to be. Two butt fuckers can be loyal butt fuckers to each other and they don't need to get married, but if they want to have a certificate of butt fucking... let them get it. I'm sure it will make their Dad's proud. 😂 🤣

I will let retired Associate Justice of the US Supreme Court Anthony Kennedy describe marriage in his Opinion of the Court for the case Obergefell v. Hodges, the case decided in June 2015 which allowed same-sex marriage throughout the US.

No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were. As some of the petitioners in these cases demonstrate, marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death. It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.
The judgment of the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit is reversed.
It is so ordered.30 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)1 yIts not marriage calling it such is just a lie whether its told by you or a politician.
A real marriage is about protecting children IE families, that means the parties involved must be capable of making such children at least in theory.
Indeed many cultures hold and historically held marriage is not consummate until the act of making such children, and that the marriage is obligatory once it is clear they exist.
Such cultures includes our own historically back when the term "marriage" still referred to the original institution rather than a pointless fashion statement people use it as now.40 Reply1.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. a lot of things are a religious sin, sex before marriage, adultery, killing people, a crapton more, yet it is done on a daily basis by a whole shitload of people, and many of those are illegal and banned. (It doesn't make it right.)
So as far as I am concerned as long as the parties involved are fine with it, who am I to say differently.
There are many different interpretations of religions now, so while it might be a sin in your faith of choice, it might not be a sin in their faith of choice.
Remember, at one time the Christian faith was once a sin, and wars were fought over it, so things change.
I'm sure on judgement day we will all have more than a few discretions to atone for.10 Reply- 908 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
1 yAll marriage should be banned from government involvement.
Anyone should be allowed to "marry" anyone they want privately, the government should have no involvement in it. It shouldn't be issuing "licenses" for marriage. It's none of their business.
In the eyes of government every person should be treated as an individual and there should be no special treatment or recognition of marriage.
If people want to call themselves married that's their private business and no one else's. They have a right to do that and to marry anyone or anything they want. If you want to say you are married to your video game, that's your right. If you want to marry your guinea pig, that's your right. If you want to be married in a religious ceremony between a man and a woman, that's your right. The government should have nothing to do with it.
10 Reply Who am I to say what two people can do if they truly love each other? I know several gay people who are in steady relationships. If they want to formalize their relationship and their dream is to walk down the aisle, it's none of my business.
It doesn't matter what religious beliefs say. Religion is free, as is their choice of a partner.
30 ReplyTraditional methods are meant for people who follow the traditions of that religion, if the current followers of the religion or religion do not want them to use their marriage customs then these homos should adopt their own method which does not involve tradition

I am against legally binding people into self-destructive relationships which cannot be reformed.
lying to everyone in calling it a "marriage" is just being dishonest and devaluing the people actually contributing to maintaining the population upon which our very existence depends.
A population that has for decades been failing to produce enough babies to even do that.
310 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Banned. My state voted to ban it around 2007. The ban passed by over 72% as I recall. Marriage is a states issue like age of consent, marijuana, and prostitution. Older readers may remember when most stores weren't allowed to be open on Sunday. Over the decades people's opinions changed so now they're open, but it was a state or local issue determined by the values of the citizens. Same sex marriage shouldn't be dictated by the Supreme Court when it's not mentioned in the Constitution.

Sure it is!! "General welfare"
1 yShould be legal, not the governments place to tell someone who they can and cannot marry, also not religious leaders place to dictate who someone can and cannot marry as there is a little thing in the constitution called separation of church and state.
10 Reply1.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. We have separation of church and state for a reason; If religion could directly impact law, I would make a couple of religions myself and sprinkle in a holy tabloid.
What two adults want to do together is up to them; Hell, eat eachother for all I care; Marriage seems like a minor detail at that point.10 Reply- 7.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
1 yLet `em do it! What's it gonna hurt? They're already gay so, it's not like they're taking another man or woman off the market when they weren't even on it in the first place.

1 yI would ban religion before gay marriage. Religion is responsible for more problems, wars, discrimination, and all around ridiculous ideas. Far more then anything else in existance.
10 Reply 1.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Men and women were created for one another. I know gay and bi people and don't agree with what they do, but I still respect them. Marriage is meant for a man and a woman.
10 Reply2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Possibly the better question s if a gay marriage should be allowed to adopt children.
I think children have a right to XX and XY parents so I say NO.10 Reply- 1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
1 yActions can be banned, but not beliefs. It would only make them much more hostile toward religion. We can’t force people to feel or think differently. The best we can do is try to help guide them in a peaceful manner.
10 Reply Don't care. I mean gay unions aren't marriage, but marriage isn't marriage anymore either. So I see it as a difference without distinction. If heteros can get their shit together then we can worry about the gays.
