I mean he could... wait a minute... I think if it's a state crime or basically not on the federal level, it's out of his hands. So I don't really know until they charge the guy with something. They just caught the guy today I think, so we'll see.

I really don't think Trump would though. He's a hero to leftists even though he didn't do anything. Dead guy is replaced with another guy, and now they hide the names and faces of these CEO's. Nothing achieved. As far as the moderate left and to the right goes, this is a violation of law and order. You can't just go vigilante mode because of fee fees. I don't even think Biden would pardon his ass. That CEO was a major donor to the establishment democrat party if I had to place bets... but I could be wrong about that. It's basically left on left crime... Regular leftests like the establishment, and far leftists want to rip it apart. One of the few things I like about the far left.

Could? Of course. Its the loophole of no liability afforded to presidents. Although prior to Trump the pardon was given by the succeeding president and not yourself.

I do however struggle to see why Trump, who has appointed his own billionaire buddies to positions they are not qualified for, who himself and many of his friends are terrified to the point of bringing little kids (Elon Musk) to public spaces as body armour, ever would.

Trump is perhaps the least likely president ever to do that pardon. Unless of course it would help people believe he didn't actually score 73 IQ in the only recorded IQ test the man has taken.

He would be able to, yes. I'm not sure how a move like that would go over. The common people would probably like it. The power brokers would hate it.

But the other way of looking at that is Trump doesn't have to worry about the power brokers anymore. He has already beaten the odds to get elected twice. He's not worried about getting reelected anymore. He can kinda shit whoever's cereal he wants.

There are a few different aspects to that question. You have the crime itself, but then you also have Trump's reputation, the reputation of the company whose CEO got murdered, and then principle behind the pardon.

Trump already has a dirty reputation, so pardoning someone who definitely committed murder will add to many of the public's belief that Trump represents lawlessness.

He can, but he probably won't. He'd take too much heat. He wouldn't even commute the death row sentence of that woman who cut the baby out of the woman's stomach. And he wouldn't pardon the George Floyd cop. Even if he wants to pardon him, he has to play it smart

Most presidents have an agenda and need to make deals to get things passed. So they wait until they are about to leave office and no longer expect to need that leverage
