Sounds like they are expecting the inevitable. Have you spoken with the family about your lease? Would they consider a lease option from you (assuming you want to stay)? Truth is your lease probably stays in tact until it expires so they can't just kick you out. They can sell it with a renter but it complixates the sell.
If you liked where you were living. I would try to connect with the building inspector and see what, if anything he noticed that didn’t fit code. Depending on the inspector’s findings. I would be keeping an eye out for other places to live.

You need to read the landlord-tenant law for your state. It may speak directly to this issue.
It would be good to have the benefit of the Results of Inspection. A small area can be treated, or, if in the framing and drywall, simply replaced with new studs sistered onto the remaining old ones. Local laws can be arbitrary, at times. Our city has one that requires a building permit to replace a same-size storm door! What a joke. If someone was "framing down" to s ambler size, there MIGHT be a reason to support that rule, but a simple swap? Different entities might have varied ways of handling "mold" issues. Some with a touch of bleach, others with full demo, and anything in between.
The one great thing about being a tenant over being a homeowner is you can move. When you own your own home you are stuck fixing the roof or mold or a leaking chimney or broken boiler. Though if you are a tenant you are essentially paying the mortgage on another person's house.

@KostasKouvalis depends but varies and then if they break the contract by leaving early you have to pay lawyers to go after them. Usually if you have good tenants it's better to let them leave when they want or need to. Bad tenants can be an absolute nightmare. My parents have a few houses they rent out. Getting a bad tenant out is a nightmare, one house had been completely trashed. The copper wiring taken out of the walls, lead off the roof, damage to the plaster, wooden floors destroyed, toilets smashed. It all cost money to repair.

@KostasKouvalis you can but if the landlord is able to get away good new tenant they may not. Lawyers cost money.
It's usually nothing, and easily fixable. American homes are basically cardboard, hence the mould eats away at it. Here we build with stone and brick. Mould can penetrate very little.
I helped a friend flip a 200 year old building a long while back. Converted it from a school to flats. Place was empty for decades and ridden with mould in some places, but got it all cleared within a day.
I've not rented in decades so coming from a different perspective. I do have tenants who are responsible for the property I rent to them though and I expect them to keep the place in such a way that they're comfortable with as there are 3 of them living in the same space. Communication is important but if something arises then I give them the opportunity to resolve it and be recompensed so they have a bit of ownership of their own to take care of the place for themselves and each other

Find out what their plans are for the house, are they going to fix the problems with you living there and so on. ASK ASK and ASK

That you need to talk to the landlord about it and I guess that means that they are planning on selling the house. Black mold is very unhealthy and dangerous so if I were you, I would be looking for another place anyway
It’s a lot to take care of, but if they spray bleach everywhere, it will destroy it, but if it was on sheet rock, it would have to be replaced
Nothing comes to mind because I'm just renting. That stuff is the landlords responsibility not mine
Oh but it is your responsibility when it makes you deathly ill and that it will too. Living in a structure with black mold will maim you your children your pets even your plants if you have any. And anyone that knowingly rents a structure with it present should be prosecuted.
You will have the mold remediated and deduct the cost from rental payments. Put that in as a condition of your rental agreement.
I don’t have a basement. I have an attic, but you can’t live up there and you gotta be careful because you’ll break something by crawling around anyway enjoy your dinner at Christmas
Time to start looking for a new place to live.

Yes and it's invasive too it will invade anything that is porous materials clothes paper anything including flat white paint on ceilings and walls. And it can also invade the body too anywhere causing infections drinking water and bacon soda can eliminate it stop its growth however with care not to over do it.
