Americans have a right to keep and bear arms. That could be a stick, a sword, an axe, a gun, a tank, a battleship with multiple cannons, a high powered laser, combat drones, etc. What kind of arms you want to acquire is up to you, but general guidance is given by the government/military because someday average men may have to operate as a combined force, thus should be well trained based on whatever the technological standard of the era calls for. In the modern era, most infantry/militia should be trained to operate and fight with AR style rifles at the bare minimum. That doesn't mean the government need to supply them, but the government should promote ownership of weaponry commonly used by infantry for civilians so that average Americans can be well regulated if they are called upon to defend the security of the free state. Instead what you have is treasonous bastards in the left-wing that try to sabotage quality of the militia which are expected to defend freedom.
