Is government’s failure to act and keep us safe all the more reason why we should have a legal right to self defense and gun ownership?

I remember the Police waiting outside doing nothing during Parkland.

They did the same thing this time.

Nevermind the FBI also failing to get involved when they were notified.

Or even when the FBI failed to enter records of the Sutherland Springs guy’s domestic violence convictions, which would have prevented him from buying.

My point being if government hasn’t been keeping us safe then who are they to tell us its their responsibility and we have no right to do it ourselves?

I mean time and time again all these school shooters have shown troubling warning signs of a propensity towards violence, and yet schools never act.

There's too many moving parts and possible points of failure to give up the right to self defense, and even if everything worked perfectly, the first and unfortunately last line of defense in a threat to your life is yourself, and there aren't enough cops and security guards for everyone to have a personal protection details.

It is a good reason to have private firearm ownership, but not the best reason. The best reason for private firearm ownership is in case the government itself goes rogue. If the government decides to oppress you, steal your wealth and livelihood, or just decides it wants to outright exterminate you, you need a gun. In fact, you need many guns. Big guns. And lots more people like you with many big guns. Private firearm ownership protects the citizen from both practical threats, like robbers and burglars, as well as existential threats like government oppression and genocide.

If it doesn't make sense, look a reason. Throughout history, powerful people have created false flags to achieve their goals. Mass shootings by a so called deranged person are not happening in Switzerland nor are they happening in the Mideast and in both places guns are readily available. Furthermore, these mass shooting have on only recently started happening in the USA, and that only after powerful people started pushing to eliminate the second amendment. It doesn’t take brilliant people to make the association.

When you live in a 3rd world country, where the government is either too dysfunctional to help you or outright hostile toward you, you damn well better be armed.

Lots of regular people in Afghanistan and Somalia have AKs for protection of family and livelihood. That doesn't make them all terrorists or pirates.

The US government gave guns to Mexican drugs cartels in Operation Fast & Furious.

The US government gave guns, helicopters, and equipment for the Taliban.

The US government gave guns and missiles and rockets to Ukrainians.

But Americans can’t own an AR-15 or have a pistol to defend themselves?
