Why are some people against self defense rights?

It’s ridiculous! If someone’s attacking you, what are you supposed to do, allow them to do that? That’s stupid. If someone attacks me, I will defend myself whether allowed by the law of man or not.

A person that punishes a person for self defense or tells him/her never to defend themselves, that person needs to be charged for attempted murder and receive capital punishment. I’m not afraid to speak against tyranny.

In commonwealth countries the concept is commensurate force.

If you unexpectedly punched me and walked away I am probably not entitled to run after you and punch the shit out of you but I'd get away with it.

I would not be entitled to pull a gun and shoot you for punching me. I could possibly do so if you didn't walk away and continued to belt me and made me fear for my life.

I am not entitled to shoot you dead if I find you breaking into my home at 3 am. I am entitled to shoot you dead if I fear you will kill me because you brandished a machete at me.

I don't of any country that stops you defending your self but there limits on how you can defend yourself.

Not saying which is right or wrong. I certainly would like to plug the the housebreaker.

I’m not against the idea of self defense as it goes, you are cornered / threatened and you have no opportunity to flee so you might fight or risk your life. Standing your ground is a good thing.

Self defense laws should go into specifics how it is self defense and make it so no misuser of a firearm can get away with cold blooded murder. Self defense to protect oneself is justified, no question about that.

*I will say you can say negative / positive aspects of something without being totally for or against the thing in question. Govt efficiency is one of those things, War On Terror is another, Insurance Corporations, environmental issues, etc.
I will always say things I agree with and concerns that should be ironed out that I don’t agree with because it is healthy to be in the center lane on things.

I bought a handgun and a shotgun for self defense two years ago. I liv in a moonbat state where the police have been defunded and the DAs regularly let criminals run free. I know that if my home is breached and I have to put somebody down I will probably be the one that goes to prison.
