Guns, maybe. The Constitution is pretty clear on this. States can expand gun rights but not reduce them.

Church tax, yes. I'd have to scan through the Constitution, but I can't think of anything that would make church taxation a federal power and not a state power.

In my opinion churches should be taxed, or at least the business portion of them should be taxed. When a church invests in large high rise office buildings and acts as a business and landlord, that should be taxed.

The Constitution and historical writings are VERY clear on guns.

The US government was given specific authority for some things and not others. There are some parts of the Constitution that are vague, but that's not one of them.

The first amendment demands separation of church and state. The government should not support one religion over another, nor oppress any religion (unless it's breaking laws). I don't care if churches are taxed or not until they advocate for one political party or another, then they become part of that political party and should be taxed.

Private citizens can own guns for all I care. But they need to demonstrate they are responsible, trained, and vetted (like they do in the military), and lose access to them the moment they show they aren't capable of being responsible.
