Are small towns lonely?

I swear it's like these people don't even use facebook. I'm on the local Facebook group for my town and I don't hardly ever get any notifications of events happening. Like a week ago they had the santa parade where they block off a main road and I can't even get home. I'm used to towns putting out yard signs along the road informing people of events and the only way you wouldn't know us if you never left the house. I guess a lot of the stuff is mainly for people who have small kids, so maybe they just talk amongst themselves about it and people without kids wouldn't know about most of these activities. Who knows, I'd be pissed if I had a kid and missed the santa parade. You would think it would be quite the opposite in a smaller town and you would know more people. Opinions?

People don't need Facebook in small towns. They talk with their neighbors... in person. Small towns and villages are definitely not lonely places.

I think that your options are a lot more limited in a small town but you have closer relationships with the people that live there.

You probably shouldn't live in a small town unless you have a family or a lot of friends there. It's going to be really lonely.
