Why are people getting shamed for wanting 50/50?

I don't know. It seems idiotic to me. Isn't that what people wanted, EQUALITY no matter what?

Personally though, I don't want 50/50. I want to be the provider. If she wants to work though or surprise me with a special date she paid for, more power to her!

Because men are expected to be providers, and wanting to split the bill on dates 50/50 makes is seem like the man isn't being a provider which is ridiculous in my opinion. This whole men paying for dates is no longer needed since woman make up 50% of the work force where back in the day, they made up less than 15% of the work force.

If that's what both parties want, why should I care? Each situation is different, and I would hope grown people could figure that out for themselves, without bothering to care what other people think about it.
