i didn't get my question across correctly. let me try again.

the media wants you to believe a certain way so they release information for that story even though that's not really the story. it might be a part of it and it might not even be true.

so, why do they do that? is it to appease an audience? to make money somehow? to sway your opinion? all of the above?

i just don't believe that he is guilty of this crime. i think that the surviving roommates had something to do with the murders

I'm not even sure what the question is here to be honest, but I'm all in favor of the media having as much information as they can possibly get. I always hope that when it comes to national security they will be discreet about what they actually tell the public. I think here in the United States they do a pretty good job of that.
