The question is if it's more important to allow males that identify as women to go to female prison and be able to rape vulnerable females, or if offending transgender women is more important. California choosing to stand up for transgender women's desires on this issue. How do you guys feel about it?

From what I'm reading, Caroll has an history with sexual assault:

"Early convictions [...] Carroll and other men breaking into an apartment occupied by two women. The victims were sexually assaulted, court papers show."

In the context of:

Senate Bill 132 allows incarcerated transgender, non-binary and intersex people to request to be housed and searched in a manner consistent with their gender identity. To apply, detainees must only profess their identity. Taking cross-sex hormones or undergoing surgery is not required. Requests are reviewed by a warden, guards, medical and mental health staff, and an expert on prison rapes.

This reviewing process is not trivial at all, quoting:

[...] review of an incarcerated person’s central file, various reports, and a thorough review of their history prior to and during incarceration; their crime, arrest and criminal history; trial and sentencing documentation; medical and mental health needs; custody level; time to serve; safety concerns and other factors including security and program needs. Medical and mental health care staff members are part of this process.

PREA standards require that all incarcerated people be assessed. Information documented includes their age, disabilities, gender identity, personal and criminal history, prior incarcerations, prior incidents of victimization either in custody or in the community, and convictions for sex offenses. Based on the information gathered in the PREA Screening Tool, an incarcerated person will be given one of three designations: at risk as a victim, at risk as an abuser, or not identified as being at risk. For example, individuals at risk as a victim cannot be housed in a cell with an individual identified as being at risk as an abuser. [...]

Then Carroll found a breach, clever acting possibly, but also debunked:

One of Carroll's former psychologists, Dr Jack Miller, using an alias to protect his identity, Miller had about a dozen sessions with Carroll, in the years before he came out as trans. He was never interested in counselling, says Miller. The appointments were always a 'vehicle to do something else. Miller has no knowledge of Carroll's trans transfer request, but says his history of gaming the system was a red flag that was overlooked. "I'm utterly shocked that some other psychologists approved his transfer to a women's prison," he told DailyMail. com.

So, this reviewing process failed to assess risks apparently, whether or not rape allegations will turn into conviction, it looks very odd that such a transfer has been accepted in the first place.

I'm actually in favor of sending transgender women to women's prisons, I don't empathize with female prisoners anyway.

Is your lack of empathy based on the fact that they are criminals? Do you think SA is just a risk that they have to deal with, like with males in male prisons?

This has less to do about gender identity and more to do with how American court systems handle rape cases to the point that most rapists, in a court of law, are always treated as human despite their inhuman actions. This applies to men and women.

And on the topic of the rape case, do you propose that the accused are not afforded human rights anymore?

All accused have the right to be treated as human, but this is not seen in every case. Everyone has the right to a fair trial, but the level of humanity afforded to accused rapists prior to their conviction (which may not even have harsh sentencing, let alone prison time) is not the same as the humanity afforded to those accused of murder, or larceny.

How do you quantify the levels of humanity afforded to the accused, based on crime type? Is there a study on this, with a large sample size? Or are you basing it on your own feelings and the news articles from people with similar feelings?

What's the solution to the scenario where males are placed in custody with females? Like the one in the story, where this male raped multiple female inmates?

The solution is as complex as the issue itself of the moral assignments of crime and criminals, meaning we haven’t figured it out yet and may not as long as the external factors responsible for criminal acts go unchecked

Some of these answers. Are we really this far gone as a society? Some people are all about women's rights, until it's time to actually protect women's rights. No woman deserves to be raped.

Well if it makes you feel better, one guy actually seems to be against it. The girl that responded just avoided the topic, but she has a long history of dishonesty here, so she likely won't give a clear answer, despite definitely supporting the rape of females by males.
