right... I can see why that would be a very difficult position to even start thinking about solutions, and this is usually the case in these situations... there's always multiple factors involved that will make it almost impossible to see any plausible way out

I would imagine it helps get the best outcome but I guess not everyone has that luxury

not exactly... therapy is not only for healing... it's also for learning new strategies for coping with difficult situations...

That’s probably true. It definitely would help for the person to see that other things exist outside of that pattern.
