It i true ultimately all authority is based in violence.
Peace however is based upon the compromise among the people upon recognizing ownership and a system of rules for which it changes hands.

If you choose to abandon that system of compromise then then you are not just engaging in an assault against the victim in the hat but everyone who's security is built around that compromise. Hence the man in the hat will have the police and soon the army to back him up along with his reasonable neighbors.

While the criminal mob will soon find themself dead or in jail regardless of whether or not they "win" as they would in victory just as soon be attached by anther mob.

No actually. No evasion isn't a crime if done legally. You and I can contribute to charity to avoid taxes. Apple opens a bullshit office in Dublin which has the lowest corporate tax rate on the planet.

Then that is not tax evasion if it is legal. If it is in anther country its not subject to taxes at all. You have the right to tax yourself including that which you import not others.

@oddbeme Tax evasion is illegally not paying your taxes not merely doing what YOUR politicians legally allow everyone to deduct.

      https://www.wordnik.com/words/tax%20evasion

If you want billionaires to pay a flat tax stop allowing politicians to make exception to the tax code., you clearly can't hold them accountable for said exception nor control them in this or almost any other issue.

So until you stop giving them such power you shoudl take ownership of whatever abuses they carry out with such power.

Ehh in broad terms. Like i said... avoiding and evading are simply synonyms. The law clearly shows us evading taxes with charitable donations or funding a corporate jet is legal.

There are so many loopholes written by lobbiests that make tax evasion legal

Politicians write and vote on laws NOT lobbyist, the lobbyist are only ever involved at the willful invitation of the politicians ans YOU elected.

To complain about lobbyists is me complaining about legal bribery in campaign elections. Like your president receiving millions from americas billionaires.

What are they expecting for this investment in Trump? What has he promised them? We don't know because of right wing politicians who like it that way.

I could be for that. Basically this is saying money can't be gifted to children or inherited.

But if you say that deceased estates goes to gov't I'm out. The gov't will just waste on painting rainbow crossing and such. Better to keep it out of dead heads of gov't.

The rule by which said change in ownership takes places is the key. The state exist precisely because we do not and cannot agree on what is 'justice' so we compromise with law established by a system of broad consent to be governed.

The issue of consent to be governed is indeed a very important one as discussed. In that it must reflect our ability to govern ourselves otherwise.

@monorprise That is quite true. To get a majority on deceased estates being forfeit to gov't would require most estates not to be taxed because no matter how small it is, there is still an advantage to inherit.

The UK currently has a death tax of 40% above 325,000 pounds. It is not that unusual to have death taxes.

Like it or not Estate taxes on farms just exist to get rid of family farms in favor of corporate farms as corporation don't die and generally have enough credit or even money laying around to pay large bills when shareholders die.
      @RavVid

So this is really just anther form of give away to big business who can buy politicians and media leaders. Leftist being typical tools of their political leaders just don't realize it.

As for the moral case of earning your own wealth rather than inheriting it. A large part of people's motivate to work is to have something to pass on to their children. Seeing yourself as part of a family rather than an indiviual is very important to the survival of any civilization because we humans are just not well adapted to thinking and working alone. We are too vulnerable at the start and and end to not be family based.

@monorprise Yes we do like family farms more than corporate farms and it is not often appreciated just how much capital there is in farming. It averages to 6 million in my country.

The tribal unit was often about 100 individuals so what you say about about survival as a relatively small group is also true. There is evidence of that in Homos Erectus because individual survived broken bones when they couldn't have as loners. Also food was chewed for them.

A very early form of inheritance would be passing on a range from one generation to another plus knowledge on resources in it. I think we would have to say inheritance predates capitalism.

@RavVid As mentioned inheritance is often the point of investment, without which we would think not at all about any project beyond our time. Its difficult to overstate the importance of that motivation to humans undermining the case against the idea that everyone should be equal at birth without it.

In printable we both like the idea of everyone being individuals however in practice it just means nobody cares about anything beyond their own life and there is no investment or stewardship. We have to see ourselves as families at some level. In their social programs this is what the left seeks to restore at some level. They fail miserably because they don't understand what it is and why it exist.

In addition to missing this nature and history all together, they are blindly thinking we can all do so with very different people and cultures. That requires either a common enemy that unites us in broader terms of what we have in common with a willingness to sacrifice to save what is left or a more homogeneous population that can mostly agree on the collectivized issues.

The national socialist understood this early on which is why they were more successful in using it to imposing the evil ends of the left. Even the communist ended up understanding and using the common enemy by necessity.

That leaves the leftist who have never run anything also known as academic leftist. or western leftist who can pretend human nature is or can be whatever they want.

@monorprise That is a good distillation and I like the point. If I am only interested in my own enjoyment and pleasure than I am not going to go beyond my life time in planning. If I marry than I will think of providing for her lifetime as well. Should I have children than my ball game is very different. Not only do I have children to provide for but grand children etc.

In short, an enduring difference becomes my objective. I have not realized that before. Multiply that across a population then it becomes significant because as a whole we transcend our individual lives.

I can't see what country you are from but if from US or Canada you would probably see what I see. A whole lot of building and creating of things mean to endure well past the original settlers lives. I have always been impressed by what they did.

Thank you for giving me a fresh perspective.

No, it isn't our place to decide what to do with money that belongs to others. Is this how we make life fair? When are you going to learn you can't do that? Life isn't fair and all your efforts to make it fair will fail. What do you propose to do with the money that rich families would have passed on to their heirs?

But, again, what does this have to do with people's wealth? Are you saying if I'm wealthy, when I pass on, the government takes my wealth instead of it passing to my heirs? Just another tax?

People work to give their children whatever they can. What we see is that this generation is doing worse than their parents and that's down to mass immigration, low wages, high taxes and high property prices.

No prove *MASS ILEGAL* immigration doesn't have a detrimental effect. Why do you think Mexico has a very strict ilegal immigration policy and a boarder wall? Why does Israel not just let anyone who wants to immigrate to their country? Why are sanctuary cities struggling so much with too many illegals? Why is there a housing crisis in the UK? Why is gang rape such a problem in the EU, UK and Sweden?

Income over $6,000,000 was taxed at a 90% rate (with plenty of loopholes, which is why the long-ago elite founded libraries, schools and other institutions which greatly aided their less fortunate compatriots) under that raging Commie Dwight D. Eisenhower. I believe JFK began lowering the tax rate on the super wealthy because, of course, he came from mega money.
