Why is it that people judge black women much more harshly?

White women and other women who aren't black can freely rock whatever clothing style and hairstyle/hair color they want. Nobody says nothing or look twice. Once a black woman does this we're judged harshly and people stare as if we have 10 heads. Can someone explain?

I have been told by many of my friends of color that this happens. I have never seen it or experienced it being another colored woman. I take that back. I have heard some older women (much older than I am (42) make comments. Not many though. I know that it does happen though because I have lady friends of color that give me the same story. It is consistent. I know they aren't just making it up.
