We need some kind of truth system, a guage, which can be clicked to references for why rated that way.

and likely needs punishment association if people lie, deceive or falsify. just like in business. our nation depends upon it.

Who determines what is fact. That's always the problem with government censorship and propaganda. I'm sure if the naxis had fbook they'd have called claims about nazi death camps as misinformation and instead referred to them as Jewish holiday camps.

Recently a woman was jailed in the UK simply for live streaming a riot happening outside her home, now she wasn't partaking or defending what the rioters were doing but simply reporting it.

fact checking always turns into censorship and activis. it's never purely objective and without an agenda. cause people are people and algorythms are probably as prone to failure but for different reasons than people.

fake news is everywhere either way. we saw that when the fact checkers were still in place. i'm not saying fake news is great but it goes back to freedom of speech. freedom of speech is a joke if you can't say what you think, even what you think is fake and wrong. society is naturally gonna rectify it through discourse. so banning the conversation is the exact wrong thing to do it cause that's a breeding ground for tin foil hats.

well the solution is critical thinking and civil discourse in my opinion. because once you decide to do censorship, you inhibit the processes that find truth. like once you ban civil discourse, truth will die. like even jfk would be in favor of not banning free speech. he died exactly because of trying to expose the forces who were trying to edit the truth in their own ways which is exactly what happens if we allow fact checking and censorship. the solution isn't to do it more. the solution is to expose it and stop it. which jfk tried and he died for doing the right thing. which in my opinion is very noble of him.

like look at ideas like flat earth. imagine the community of people thinking the earth is flat wouldn't be allowed to speak their mind and share their ideas. they could never spar their critical thinking ability and never learn that they were wrong. cause if their idea is just censored and forbidden, they will grow resentment and be even less accepting for actual truth. that's how minds work. that's how people learn. that's how critical thought works and if you ban that, ultimately you'll also kill critical thinking and that would be a great loss.

like there's always gonna be a flat earther who can't be convinced but that's not avoidable. forbidding them to speak their opinion would create more of them, not less.

I think you need to get your facts right on this one. The plan is to have the users confirm the facts. So for example if I post "Asians responsible for WW2." And it gets a lot of likes then you know it's true.
