George Washington was one of the richest men in America so yes, they respected people for their proven financial achievements as should you.
Why would you want a man who can't manage his own business & money managing yours?
@oddbeme
The point is the founders respected a man for his achievements and wealth. If you had any sense at all you would as well.
Maybe if he isn't a grifter such as Trump !!!
@beefcakebradybatson You must be having a stroke or some other sort of mental health emergency.
Those ol' boys couldn't have dreamt of a grifter like Trump !!!
Weren't the founding father the richest people in America or at least became the richest after the revolution. I mean they had huge farms and a lot of slaves.
They were stinking rich before they left Europe.
@purplepoppy exactly right. Washington was a British officer, English, a slave owner and a blasphemous traitor.
George Washington was one of the richest long before the revolution. Adams a much more modest man had trouble supporting himself in the whitehouse as congress didn't pay enough.
The founders generally admired people for their financial success as anyone with any sense does.
Again why would you want to trust someone who can't manage their own business with yours?
@monorprise well if you've no tax to pay
@monorprise exactly. He was a colonel in the British army, that costs money to buy.
The lies of your communist Indoctrinatiors are speaking to your envy and jealousy. It is not just luck that made such people successful but good judgement and skill. @OddBeMe That they won when others did not is the only indication we have that they are better qualified than the other.
This doesn't mean they are better than all men in all areas only the areas in which they were successful. It is this system of meritocracy that has been proven again and again to be the best, while the alternatives have failed time and time again.
@monorprise just look at twitter. He brought it back when it was failing. 60% of the staff were liberals who served no purpose
They filtered insanity better back then.
@dustybiker2
They did indeed, Maybe that is why they tended to elected people who were more like Musk and Trump in policy?
@monorprise Are they similar? They used to hang cowards.
Yes, you should look at the policy platform at the time. They hanged almost everyone for crimes of which there were a lot fewer focused almost exclusively on property issues.
They didn't have a managerial or regulatory state trying to protect people from themselfs.
Likewise unemployment was soo uncommon it was itself actually considered a crime. Known as vagrancy.
As it turns out when the goverment doesn't try to micromanage business, everyone can get some kind of job.
Far right wing conservatives today would have been regarded as far leftist to them. 150 + years of media cherry picking the "public conversation" and the Overton window has shifted very far to the left since the time of the founders.
@OddBeMe
What is not partisan about the fact that you were dealing with a far more conservative population at the time?
Overton window has been shifted dramatically to the left since the time of the American founding as a it normally is. Such shifts are the result of the wealth and stability the institutions they created gave people creating a false sense of secure and trustworthiness in the same. This ultimatum leads to future people corrupting or destroying said institutions and the community collapse.
basically the same thing that happens to people in cities. The urban environment creates a false sense of security and trust leading to the corruption of its institutions and the collapse of the same.

For all we know he may have done just that. The founders were all rich guys and we really do not know who the richest guy in the world was in 1776. Maybe the king of England/?
Elon Musk does not office out of the White House. He manages the Dept of government efficiency for President Trump's Administration.
MUCK FUSK !!!
@beefcakebradybatson Perhaps you but not the world and not America
Yes they would. They weren't short of a few bob themselves and lived in an age where your worth as a human was measured by the weight of your wallet. They would have been happy for you to have a vote as long as the candidates were wealthy.
A few bob? Not a few Brady?
@monorprise We black folk got ZERO representation in the South and little in the North until Pres. Johnson, who died 52 years ago today at age 64, signed the Voting Rights Acts of 1964 and 1968.
@beefcakebradybatson and sent blacks to fight in Vietnam. #complexhistory
@beefcakebradybatson
Not only did blacks have the vote in southern states some of them like Clennon Washington King Jr. had their own politic la parties.
Don't confuse laws which allegedly inhibited the black vote for having prohibited the same. Clearly their vote was significant.
Ali said he'd fight wars called only by Allah or "the Messenger," i. e., LFNOI founder Elijah Muhammad, of which the Vietnam police action wasn't one.(African Americans, then 11% of the U. S. population, were one-quarter of the soldiers, partly because some chose military service over straitened circumstances, but many more because Selective Service targeted heavily African American areas for draftees.)
um, like not so long after, these dudes took/owned massive acreage... they were seriously filthy rich. some had slaves.
I don't know what they'd say...
the founders? really? NOW you're worried about what they would think after the bat shit crazy that we've had in the white house the last 4 years? I think they'd be more worried about people's diehard hatred of those with differing opinions. The divisiveness is crazy.
This is @NYCQuestions1976 going Anonymous so all of the far-left crybabies see my response. Musk (or Ramaswamy) aren't going to have an office in the White House. They're going to be running the Department Of Government Efficiency. Less drinking, more therapy.
I think their objections would have been more centered on the person's views than how rich they are.
I imagine that they probably anticipated a certain amount of the technological advances that have happened. Maybe not just how extreme the evolutions have been, but they probably saw most of it as a possibility.
They wouldn't want a government this big in the first place that needs someone to come in and clean house.
no they didn't you moron.
From the guy who voted Kamala is hilarious.
He can't be bought. He can't be blackmailed.
i don't know? they were the richest men as well weren't they?
Yes.
