We have occasionally have had a good politician who became beloved but for sheer number of things named after him, it has to be Sir John Monash.

In WW1 his planning of the Battle of Le Hamel was a master piece. He planned it at 90 minute and it took 93 minutes. He wasn't the first to think of combined arms but he was the first par excellent exploiter of it to the degree his technique was printed up and distributed to all the Commonwealth commanders.

He used pyschology and deception. Rather than massive shelling he prepared the Germans to scramble for their gas mask by introducing colored smoke shells when using gas shells. Artillery was mostly for disguising the noisy tanks that were driving up, as were low flying airplanes. He wanted to borrow US troops so he set 4th of July as the battle date which made it difficult for Pershing to refuse as he was incline. The first Aussie-Yank operation.

Oh and the King drove out to knight him on the battle field - the first commander so honored in 200 years. It is funny because he mucks up when being knighted.

His troops knew he was careful with their lives - during Hamel he delivered hot food to the troops at the front.

At Montbrehain, to win was sufficiently important to be callous so he was. Australia was out of the fight after that battle with heavy losses. It was an all volunteer force so losses were difficult to replace.

He died of a heart attack in 1931 and 300, 000 followed his hearse. At the time the population of Melbourne was 900,00+ so 1 in 3 attended. I think that was a positive vote on his greatness.

Right winged Americans saying Trump shows how delusion they've become he can't be seriously compared to any founding father nvm other better presidents does make me laugh.

As to my country eh, for sure not any PMs I can think of it's more easier to tell you why they've all sucked. Then our Royalty was always at odds with democracy naturally which isn't great though you can thank them for the power we hold/held. Truly I can only say the one that counts yet never lead officially Marx. He influenced so much though here and was a leader of an ideology, if it wasn't for him and Engels we may have progressed way slower with rights as citizens.

@Staximus Marx and Engels fought back against child labour, sexism and factor workers bad working conditions, along with low pay for those who work for bosses who are rich.

If that makes one a idiot, I would rather be a idiot than whatever you call smart.

Don't worry about it @staximus is a notable moron.

To him, and many others sharing the same type of excuse for a brain, anything ever-so-slightly left-leaning is communism. He should go to work on Saturday and Sunday, since the weekend is a crazy leftist idea.

@Staximus So China in the space of 2 generations took almost 600 million people from subsistence existence to Western middle class is a failure?
The Communists do capitalism better than the capitalists. Just look at the debt the neocon nations have accrued.
Adam Smith would be spinning in his grave at the way oligarchies have removed democratic rights to serve themselves. Just look at DonJons sponsors

I would not have said this a few years ago, but my pick is Donald Trump. Reversing all the damage liberals have done in America in recent years is a huge undertaking, and I truly don't believe there is another person in America today who could do it. I believe Trump can, and will.

Either one of the Early Founding Fathers.. They weren't perfect and had their flaws, but they made hard decisions, and managed to build principles enough to make a very young country one of the most powerful to ever exist.

@exitseven He signed the executive order that brings in the measure for tax exemption on interest payments for mortgages Biden had put in so the middle classes get shafted in his first day. The rioters who had zero business but were encouraged by the clown prince were NOT entitled to enter the Capitol building and cause chaos to try to prevent proper democratic elections to be ratified and the real president announced, There were terrorists just like the Nazi boyfriend of the Buffoon in chief
