Depends. DEI on the surface sounds like a great thing encouraging more minorities, women, non Hetrosexual and disabled people into jobs but what it ends up doing is discriminating against people based on their race, gender, religion, sexuality and experience. Imagine your boss is less qualified and experienced than you. So if coast guard leader was deliberately hiring unqualified people or promoting unqualified people over more qualified people she should probably be fired for discrimination.
