No in that... this is somewhat was done to Tennessee and NC and FL... remember people skipping over houses issue that had a Trump sign? I thought trump would have the other national guards in there and military vehicles and dump water on those fires from converted aircraft, as well as others from other countries.

Regarding FEMA specifically, I cannot say. You do need ability to have a national response to major disasters, but it seems maybe it's so screwed up he'd trash it and let it go or start over.

This is where the risks pop up... gutting the govt we come to rely on... whose gonna fill the gap when it's your back yard? We had this scenario with covid suppesedly... firing Bolton and team then an emergency hit and that team did not exist to respond. Was it better or worse... I don't know.

Not just Trump. A lot of people have wanted to abolish FEMA for decades.

The feds are NOT responsible for rebuilding businesses and people's houses. It's just another give-away program. People can rebuild their own damn houses and businesses, or buy insurance. The feds especially shouldn't be doing it when it keeps happening in the same places over and over.

FEMA became scary after 2003 when it became part of the Department of Homeland Security. Since then, I can't think of an instance when it actually did any good. It's more like another federal police force. And of course there are the camps.

It sure costs a lot of money. I'm fine with abolishing it.
