People of GAG, What would you do if you heard a male firefighter say "She got herself in the wrong place if I have to carry her out of a fire"?

Say this male firefighter said this to another man about his wife "She got herself in the wrong place if I have to carry her out of a fire" Just curious. Because a female firefighter said the same thing to the interviewer she was talking to about the interviewer's husband. She said “He got himself in the wrong place if I have to carry him out of a fire.”

I mean, he wouldn't be wrong. I am in the wrong place if I have to be carried out. Not sure why that's controversial.

Where he would be wrong is if he refuses to carry me out because of it. As if he were punishing me for not knowing how to or being unable to safely evacuate a fire.

Thats the thing. A female fire chief in California said those exact words to an interviewer when the interviewer asked if her husband was trapped could the firefighter rescue him. She literally said “He got himself in the wrong place if I have to carry him out of a fire.”

He did get himself in the wrong place, doesn't mean she wouldn't save him or others.

Yeah exactly. In any case. I have zero issues with her gender, my biggest issue is with the fact that people are defending her because of her gender and sexual orientation. Making excuses and everything. Man or woman, an attitude like that is not acceptable in first responders.
