There's a big difference between not understanding and mis-understanding. If I don't understand a question I'll ignore it or ask you to explain more. If I misunderstand a question I will not answer or answer something you did not mean to ask. None of these trigger me or make me angry really. Maybe confused.

It may be the content or topic of your questions that attract triggered and angry responses. Have you considered asking questions about non-controversial things, like food perhaps?
