How much annual leave do you get in your country?

I've heard in passing that USians don't get many days, and this leaves me perplexed.

My annual leave (in England) is pretty much the only thing that keeps me sane. Annual leave is literally FREEDOM!

I have 33 days of annual leave (I can carry over another 5), plus 8 days of bank holidays. And we have an additional 2 weeks closed during Christmas. Christmas is when I fatten up and pure slobbify.

Those who said none, what do you mean by this? What do you do if you want a holiday?

Americans think they're free. They don't have a clue. They like being cogs in a billionaire profit system that monetizes their very lives!!

We don't even have paid maternity leave or universal health care. We are animals masquerading as a civilized society.

Yes, it's an interesting conception that freedom can be interpreted in different ways. In my job we have 6 months full pay sick pay. Obviously, really important to have. Though people abuse it, ie someone was off for 4 months recently with bereavement.

I've also noticed that no Americans seem to publically declare this. I'm wondering if this is for a particular reason?

I'm American and I agree. Faux patriotism (fascism for short) is en vouge among the violent & ignorant I'm afraid.

Frankly, so many in the interior are so insular, fearful, white & poor. They just don't know any better I guess. 😭

In Ireland it's 20 days minimum but you usually get around 23 if you work for corpo. In my case though I have to use 4 of my AL for Christmas. Plus 10 days of public holidays.

My husband is from Sweden and they get a minimum of 25 days (don't know what the actual standard is) and they have 13 public holidays.

I wouldn't say your job is normal in the UK the 33 days and the two week over Christmas that's a good bonus. But I do get 25 plus the bank holidays.

Yeah, I'm really possessive about my annual leave. I saw a job with 10k extra salary, but one of the reasons I didn't go for it is they had 26 days only.

Personally it would depend on the hours, at your age though I'd assume that most things are sorted out and in place, or are near enough sorted that an extra 830 before taxes a month is less wanted than work life balance. I'm so bored in my job and have no drive for it anymore, that it's nice hearing others like theirs

Well not really. Unfortunately I had my own issues. Plus, you know how screwed up the economy and housing market is. But, I'm hoping there are ways of making more money without necessarily having to sell your soul. Office type job?

20 days are the mandatory minimum, but usually companies give you more, 25, 28... 30 days.

Not including, national holidays, weekends, and bonus vacations you can get for different reasons, like impairment.

And offcourse infite sickdays.
