People talking about algorithms being catered towards conservative values yet that has never happened to me?

Okay genuinely I need others to help me understand this. I'm 23 and I've been on youtube and facebook since around 2011. I used twitter (before Elon decided to stupidly call and name it x) and use Instagram on a daily basis.

I have NEVER been recommended a single right-wing or conservative video or influencer and have NEVER been recommended anything red-pill related either. Even now after the election, it's all the same as before and if anything, it's progressives being against Donald Trump. How in the world are so many people being recommended these things?

For further info and knowledge, I count myself as a democratic socialist but even people who claim to be on the far end of the progressive side of the political spectrum claims to see right wing recommended videos.

algorithms I think go based in your search history and what you watch. For instance during my history GCSEs I had to watch stuff on YouTube about WW2 and the nazis but the YouTube algorithm started putting real right wing stuff on my feed.

I look up stuff related to politics all the time and even with history and other things. I still don't get those types of videos in my feed.

Battle rap, music, camera videos, video game speed runs, educational videos from cogito, PBS videos, history of rap videos, Good Mythical Morning, video game theory videos. Stuff like that

You are actively seeking stuff. If you let it auto play without it will go down the right wing rabbit hole.

Sometimes I seek stuff but most of the time I do stick to my recommended videos and suggestions. I just have never gotten to that rabbit hole or any content deep into that rabbit hole
