oppose. I left work before such term was introduced. We interviwed people for skills, personality fit. There was some benefit to diverse group and I had some diversity... depending what that means to you. Some people... were mistakes and I /we paid the price, but most were good.

To think that I have some quota to hire a black person... with wrong personality fit or skills, or a jewish person that lacks skills, or a chinese that doesn't know the language or a white hillbilly... how ludicrous.

I think this should only apply where applicable skills help... like customer service where diff language skills and relational skills are a benefit. e. g. "we have a lot of black customers but no front end black people... we NEED people our customers can relate to". But that is skills, not for diversity sake.

Why don't some of these executives cancel their 98 million dollar pay packages by firing themselves, and hire some gay or trans people in their place for $500,000. That be good for the business...

i do oppose it but not because i'm non-inclusive, believe in inequality or don't want diversification. the only people that want this are people that don't deserve it. i'd sooner choose a foreign doctor over a non-white doctor because i don't trust their credentials.

think about that. that is what DEI has done to people. we can't trust each other anymore. that idea goes back to affirmative action. it's the same thing. it's the worst thing to happen to the usa. there's nothing worse than feeling like a pity hire.

It's the premise I oppose. Saying we need something that already exists is flawed. If a person doesn't know how to get the position then they are not the person for the job. Blaming circumstances makes you look like a victim. No one wants to hire someone who views themselves as a victim.

Because it translated into: Diversity, allowing people in based on physical appearances, not content of character. Equity does not mean equality. Equity refers to equal outcome; equality is an equal chance to succeed. Inclusion does not apply to all. All minorities are included, whites are not.
