Lets put it like this then. Trump came out and said that nothing could stop these tariffs and that they were required to re-balance the unfair trade deficits that Mexico and Canada had been using to exploit USA. Obviously I think this is nonsense, but that was Trumps argument for why these tariffs were required.

Fast forward to today and not only did Canada have to come out and announce that USA was delaying the implementation of their tariffs from Saturday to Tuesday because apparently the white house can't run be bothered to announce their own policies these days but also later that both the tariffs that nothing could stop would be delayed a further month because Canada would do what they already said they were going to do months ago and Mexico would reduce the number of national guardsmen they sent to the border, which does not actually do anything once they are there because they do not have the legal authority to arrest people.

Not only that but Mexico managed to secure a promise from Trump to enact further gun control inside USA to prevent the illegal gun smuggling across the border with Mexico. And all this at the expense of USAs good will around the world and undermining his negotiation position by proving that his words are meaningless.

Well, if we look at Trumps first term then no. He does not have a plan and no he does not put country first.

Also, strictly speaking it is a major advantage to the country if the president is "blurry" on their positions and statements. It allows people like for example American diplomats to take whatever side is the most useful for USA and pretend that the president is directly supporting them. The more specific and outspoken the president is the more limited they become in turn.

I suppose you are talking about the USAID situation. The USAID program is one of Americas most important soft power projectors. It is what USA uses to manipulate other countries and maintain its position as the worlds super power. First of all, does the government have your fingerprints, DNA and facial scan? You are putting the bar way above that of a normal citizen which is fine I suppose but dont pretend that illegal immigrants are somehow worse because they are not in a DNA database when citizens aren't either.

As for giving them all citizenship, obviously there would have to be some process to it but lets say for the sake of argument that there wasn't. How would that make the situation worse? They are already in USA, they are already doing whatever they are doing, giving them citizenship is not going to change any of that. They do not take fingerprints or DNA from birth. They do it for passports and such but that would require you to apply for one which is optional and that still does not include DNA samples. Likewise photographic ID is not required.

And I am entirely in favor of exchanging a citizenship for giving DNA, facial data and finger prints but I recognize that this is going above and beyond what we are asking for normal citizens. Strictly speaking the only requirement put on a native citizen is a birth certificate. Trying to catch a murderer based on their birth certificate is going to be a tall order, just saying.

While the confidentiality of your medical records has been heavily eroded by the government over the years it still does not mean that the government has unlimited rights to it. Furthermore, I dont know about you but my doctor does not have my DNA nor my fingerprints or pictures of my face. They mostly just have things like x-rays of broken legs and records of past injuries and medications. And again, this is optional. You dont have to go to the doctor if you dont want.

Generally speaking the government has more information about you from scraping social media than they do from places like the hospital. Just avoid posting pictures of your face and you are golden.
