How do people on the left justify their prior thinking? They were confused at having different genders, and whom was who and what was what. It was offensive to exclude people whom declared themselves as females or were confused from sport.

When I was a young girl I used to play on with the boys on the soccer team, basketball, wrestling, boxing and rugby. I did very well, that was until the boys starting hitting puberty and very quickly at 14 I was struggling to compete until eventually the boys were just to big, fast, resilient and faster. At 16 I was playing with the 14 year old boys and wasn't getting any better. The only thing was the wrestling, sometimes I won because the boys felt uncomfortable down there, had to stop wrestling because the boys were getting erections.

The separation of sports into different genders I think was already nonsensical and a decision made from right-wing thinking. Sports should just be sports, may the best person win. If you want to create subcategories like womens sport (if they do not get enough representation in the main league) or handicapped sports then go ahead but the main branch of sports should not have these kinds of silly restrictions.

I mean seriously, even if your argument is that women can't compete in physical sports against men, why the actual fuck would you prohibit them from even trying? That is stupid. If they get knocked out for not performing as well then that is one thing but to specifically write rules to rule them out is dumb.

Trans-women athletes competing with biological women was never a hill I was trying to die on, I might even tend to agree they shouldn’t. That’s not the point of my interest.

The point is that this is a completely manufactured political issue, in terms of the ratio of severity-to-outrage. Like this is almost never happening ANYWHERE, just because there are an infinitesimal amount of trans-women to begin with, let alone in the age bracket of competitive athletics, let alone even an aspiring athlete. Like it’s almost a non-issue, and it wasn’t even a topic of conversation on the left.

Like there’s no “Keep trans-women in women’s sports” movement of any significance whatsoever on this end. We’re all wondering why you’re all freaking out about shit that barely happens. Well, we KNOW why, but we can’t make sense of the level of fervor everyone suddenly had for the integrity of female athletics, after being the same kind of people to talk shit about the WNBA and joke about how much their sport sucks, and how unattractive they are, and yadda yadda. It’s not like there’s this long track record of the right being pro-women.

Trump made this a Top 5 campaign issue. It was 0% a part of Harris’ campaign. This is like targeting only people who wear a different color shoe on each foot. I’m sure you could find SOME, in a huge country like this, but it’s that level of microscopic.

It’s very clear that this is the one cloaked way they can go after trans people without looking like obvious assholes in the wrong. This has nothing to do with sports, and everything to do with bigotry. It’s GLARINGLY obvious, they do a very poor job of camouflaging it.
